IDEAS FOR RYZOM

I am sure this has been subject before, and i didn't waste too much time seeking it out in different threads. I feel the game should encourage "appropriate" game-play and we should earn PvP points when we participate in the greatest PvP game has to offer (OP battles). Would be preventative to the farming of PvP points....and lets face it, just makes sense this way. Thoughts?

and yep, two threads, to my knowledge, on the subject.

Oh I see...thx Marceline. I hope a third thread only proves validity and isn"t "beating a dead horse"...

Only problem with this is that it leaves no incentive for tagged PVP. OP battles already have their own incentive (OP mats).

I agree the farming for pvp points is undesirable, maybe the system could use a different tweaking. More "focused" tagged pvp events with a concrete goal could be fun, for example. I suppose we could organize those as players anyhow.

OP battle only has reward for winning group. Usually the same group mind you...with a secondary reward of pvp point for all, seems more of the opposition will show for the fight...need I explain how/why that is good? And incentive for tagged pvp would then be MORE points than those who dont...seems simple.

in response to rikutatis:
I'm all for the organising of a player-made tagged pvp event. I'm fairly certain there are things in the lore that are dumb enough to be worth fighting over :-P
roleplaying city attacks is pretty much a no go (for marauders at least) thanks to the instant-respawn-anti-mara-guards.
is there a recent death that needs avenging?
is there any info that needs to be forced out of someone at knife point?

PvP points from OP battles would be great. Even people who aren't multimasters yet could get quite a few and it would encourage more players to participate.

PvP points are a very simple thing. They are an entity rewarding a homin for great deeds done in fighting other factions/religions/organizations. As such they should be awarded to people at OP wars and in pvp regions. All these actions should earn pvp points and it is a real shame they don't.

The biggest shame however is the higher powers complete and utter refusal to do anything to try and remove farming these points. They go so far as to saying it is illegal in a tell but won't ever state it publicly. Have you farmed 8x q250 pvp items, sold some in uni channel and eventually got caught? Don't worry! You can keep the items! Just make sure you have friends in the correct places! Indeed people have openly admitted to farming and even going on to say they will carry on farming in the forums- yet the higher powers won't do anything about that.

It is just sad to see so many unworthy homins running around in armour they haven't earnt. I guess also funny when they die in 2 seconds and show a complete lack of any sort pvp skills.

+1 for pvp points in OP wars.

I will just add there is currently no point in opening them up to pvp regions as this will just sadly increase the farming and with no higher powers to police the policies they put forth- well... what can I say..

Hmm, good points Bambam and Virg. I suppose that is a valid argument to gain pvp points in OP battles. It still wouldn't be an encouragement for healers to show up though, since they wouldn't get anything. But that's another issue.

And yes Marceline! That's exactly what I meant. Plenty of ways to incorporate tagged pvp into player events. It seems like the FH market is going to have something like that right?

Anyhow, I'll add my +1 to this idea :)

I do think being able to get pvp points in OP wars is long overdue. It should, in theory, prevent the pvp farming when another source of them becomes available. And it should encourage more people to show up at the war if not for the outpost itself, at least for pvp points.
