Hi everyone,

I've been wondering how the hits per minute work on sword with dagger combo.
Assuming one is holding a 60 hpm dagger and a 38 hpm 1h sword, how is the hit rate applied?

Is it applied separately or does it just go off the lower of the two?

I tried equipping a 30 hpm sword with 60 hpm dagger and noticed I was hitting waaaay slow.

Does anyone know how it all works?

it's based on the speed of the lower weapon. so with a max speed sword (38) that's what you will get per minute.

Other games - they give you a cookie whether you succeed or not, in fact you don't even have to participate. Ryzom takes your cookie, eats it in front of you, and slaps you 2 or 3 times for bringing a cookie in the first place.

It's a great combination - you are doing Slash damage (sword) and Pierce damage (dagger) so check the mobs resistance to various physical attacks. Also if you are above level 50 melee you get XP for both 1 Handed Sword and Close Combat (for the Dagger).

The speeds are somewhat difficult to test and I have had many different results trying to work out how it is done. Generally speaking as Talk says, the lowest speed determines the speed. However I have before with 2 daggers at 66hpm recorded them slower than that (but I assume this is just because of server lag).

When making a recipe for a offhand dagger (to go with a sword) I would say don't even bother trying to get a high speed as it will still come out faster than the sword (if using excel/sup mats).

Also duel wielding OP weapons will have a cross-effect which comes in handy. I.E a vedice sword with a tekorn dagger- the tekorn dagger has a chance at a hp steal and the vedice sword has an increased crit chance. Double tekorn or double vedice will stack as well.

should that not be the other way round? vedice steals life while tekorn gets the critical hit?

As it is a cross effect that means the vedice effect of the 1h sword can apply to the tekorn dagger (and vice versa).

Essentially you end up wielding a tekorn+vedice dagger and a tekorn+vedice 1h sword.

Thanks for all your inputs! I guess with all that said, crafting a dagger with the same speed as a 1h sword works. I wasn't aware of the cross effect either. Hmmm cross effect or stacked Vedice...leaning towards both vedice if I had the choice.

Let me show you the way of the double tekky daggers :)

10% + 10% from both daggers = 20% crit chance.
+5% normal crit base chance = 25% crit chance.

60hpm (66 is more epic but will do non boosted) x2 =120hpm

120hpm @ 25% crit chance = 30 crits per minute

30cpm = 0.5cpm = 1 crit per 2 seconds

Assuming you use a good stanza that has aim for head and are hitting someone in dodge (which means you will practically always hit) then every single critical hit will stun your opponent. (Can use in PVE to tank bosses with aim for quad/kitin head).

Therefore every 2 seconds you will stun your opponent once.
