+1 This game took a turn downhill, not about the people anymore, all about self preservation.

ps.
That pic was taken on aristople of all the ppl online at the time everyone was welcome there and it was a real community. I teamed there with kami and kara as a mara without getting insults in french and bad english trown after my head in tells to me. It was a fun time where when events where organized everyone was invited (except alignment based ones). Everyone hellped each other and so on.

Now that pic is just a shambles of itself groups of ppl being banned from non alignment based events just because who knows why. Even adding extra guards. Insults in tells when you team with a friend of another alignement. There is no community anymore like you say it's a bunch of small community's forcing eachother into hatred.

This isn't an RP event, this is homins selling their stuff and having fun.

Since it's discussed at tryker official meetings, I'll assume it's a RP event. Otherwise the organizer could just go ahead and make the event without an official sanctioning - Chanchey has done this with his Black Market, for instance.

Ah - I did not realise it was like that, once upon a time we used to organise events at meetings but it was always for all homins on Atyss, hard to get fireworks and postings in all cities if it's "Us and not Them"

Only one we had that was just us lot was our Miss GoJ - forgotten the hussy who sang at it and won AND it was a male only voting committee!

Well, Mj, so that is what we do now - organise little events for a small number of homins and excude everyong else - I can remember Virg saying he thought Ranger events should be open to all and you remember a mektub race one, so we are not a community then? We are just a bunch of people doing our own thing here? Not even homins, I think Aris had a much better idea of community and if all new refugees are not aware of these meetings and, of course, do not read our forums - game is going to look pretty drab - for a sandbox where players sort out own events - so weird

4 new refugees came to the meeting that I know of (being as I told them about it) and they really enjoyed getting a better insight into the game

PS. The French do not want the mara because in their tradition the Mara are very evil and they only want dead mara (suspect hidden agenda here is that they want them out of game altogether) This appears okay for the French Mara ... oh, no, maybe not - did their numbers almost disappear at one point?

I would like to see all homins invited to all events in a very public way - Tryker meetings seem to be very busy and very interesting and Krill does an amazing job of translating and boring meetings will not be attended more than once by any new refugees, so role play goes right out the window for them

Good point - being as I am the organiser - maybe I should just post information on the event then drop it and let the other Taliar pick it up?

Neutral homins seem a bit stuffed - they never have group meetings - I suppose with being neutral they are just meant to "wear beige", though Chanchey managed it - but prob takes a fairish amount of wotsit to organise stuff alone (did he even have vendor kiosks?) whereas IF we can encourage homins to attend meetings and have them contribute then it is easier to organise collectively - erm ... if we are going to be collective ... ah, forget it
*dreams of a time when we actually get stories back into game where everyone can join in if they want to*

* this gonna sound bad (or evil or like blackmail or ...)

But if you are the one asking to organize it why do they want to rewrite the tryker rules at the same time to ban it?
I heard you are the one that needs to contact event team and so on ...

So they ask you to organize something where they ban 5% of your guild (yes me aswell) to attend, then next meeting they gonna discus if you should be banned from taliar (after I guess you do all the work).
Sorry bina but you are being played here.
To ban you I guess they gonna need to rewirte the FREE tryker lore where you as GL (taliari) are free to organize your guild as you see fit?
Well funny thing is taliari lore also says a guild needs 5 active members to vote, I have big doubts about half the ppl voting they can show 5 active members a day (without alts).
Maybe push to rewrite tryker lore where instead of they gonna forbid as a FREE civ a GL to FREELY organize their OWN guild as they see fit (aslong as all members respect laws when in lakes) to where as a taliar guild you need to show atleast 10 active players a day to be a real free tryker guild?
If they can change lore and vote against their own beliefs for their well being then do the same.

Why should you do the hard work let them ban you (against their own lore) and reap the benefits? Since it looks you'll be banned after you do all the work just before next meeting.

Hello,

I'd like to point tout that the vote was only about authorizing or not the Marauders to hold a booth in Fairhaven's fair. The question about authorizing them to come and buy items have not been voted during this assembly.

Its rather sad to see people try and hold back activites for marauders to do (as if we actually have any activities to do that we don't make up ourselves). The OP wars are unbalanced and there have been hundreds of posts about how to change this and imrpove this. At the end of the day it all boils down to numbers. Kami Vs Kara is unbalanced. It won't work. The only thing left is to re-balance the numbers, or have a 3rd faction to unbalance things in a favourable direction.

So when people change from their comfort and the faction they have been in their whole time playing, to simply try and improve the OP wars and help the game-- dont be asshats to them. Thanks.

Will just add to this:

I have enjoyed many FH fairs for many years and Virg even managed to win Mr. Atys one year (had to drop that in ^^). This is an event that is enjoyed by ALL the playerbase and from Ari at least (can't speak for other servers) no one has ever been excluded before.

To deny people an event which usually everyone enjoys, based on RP reasons (which very few actually participate in) is just pathetic. FH fair is an event where everyone comes together to have a good time. Grow up.

*snatching her igara pen and green stinga ink Binarabi pushes everything off her table and sets to write a letter to Virg*

Lordoy Virg!

You are forgetting that the marauders have been responsible for the destruction of a Trykerette's mind, that they have killed Trykers at every opportunity - such is the history written in the Aniro Chronicles, to be found in the Fairhaven Library.

Only recently was Nizyros put on trial and sentenced passed for his foul deads ...

My little marauders Marceline, Suboxide and Fitis have all sworn to uphold Tryer Federation Laws and their behaviour has been thoughtful and kind whilst on Tryker soil - but not all marauders are like them

It might be that over time all marauders will repent and become law abiding citizens once more, until then ...

Lorandoy, Virg

Drezar emerged out of the Lake of Liberty with his guild in tow. Keeping a steady pace, he slowly took off his helmet and passed it to his pet Frahar which he had been training over the last week. The Frahar attempted to nibble on the helm and upon finding it tasting quite bland, he resigned to slipping it into his rucksack. Drezar strode towards the sleeping city of Fairhaven and in the moonlight spotted a patrol wandering the shores of the Lake.

His eyes narrowed and beads of sweat began to proliferate from his forehead and ambled, like tiny Bodocs, down his face. The powerful Fyros stretched out his hands and his amplifers began to glow a soft gold. Plumes of purple smoke began to fall from the amplifiers, softly catching in the air and eventually pooling at his feet. From the pool, tendrils emerged, rising and twisting, making their way towards the unsuspecting guards. As they enveloped the guards soft thumps reverberated through the sand. The smoke drifted out into the city and soon, more soft thumps followed.

Syndicate spread out through the city, hands dipping into their bags to retrieve the papers and sticking them to the posts and walls with Kirosta secretions, occasionally stepping over a sleeping guard. Once their task was complete, they looked back at their handiwork, the hundreds of posters stuck around the city, each of them pondering at the words written on them:

"The Guardians of Shadows, as protectors of the Town Min Cho, are respectfully making a request of the Zora Theocracy that Min Cho become a trading centre that is accessible to marauders, as well as all other homins.

Our reason for this is that we have a sympathy for the struggles of this collection of warriors, we all know they are the remnants of our own races who were left behind, some even say "abandoned", in the Great Swarming and had no other choice except to make great sacrifices and live by their fighting skills and their wits. It is this struggle for existance that reaches into our hearts, homins in GoS themselves have survived kitin attacks all over Atyss and particulalry in Prime Roots where the patrols have returned and the fear and consequent high level of alertness gives them an empathy with those who struggled through so many years to survive.

This was mentioned at the recent meeting with the theocracy in Min Cho and was rejected - "Tryker ways" were seen as not befitting for Zora - yet surely our dream "of a world without tyranny or intolerance" and slavery, is a dream we can all share, regardless of our race.

The Zora serve the living planet and ally themselves with Ma' Duk, our protector and the one who restores our life when we are killed in action. They built Zora in memory of those who fell during the kitin attack and were central to the Free Trade Agreement of 2516 which was seen as a "solid foundation for building future prosperity as well as interracial understanding"

Under the FTA it was stated that "The agreement grants crafters and merchants of every nation the right to operate in serenity on an international scale independent of divergences in religious beliefs and practices" - surely this should include our lost homins, the marauders?

In addition the opening of the traders at Min Cho to the rejected and abandoned marauders will increase "competitive markets to bring innovation, growth and improvement" also bringing improved quality and a better standard of living to us all. It may also "strengthen homin development in the face of natural adversity" ... the future is uncertain to all of us ...

In addition, I would like to quote from the FTA:
"Article 3 : Rules of Origin, 3.3 Every manufactured article shall bear the name or mark of its state of origin" - this being that any articles sold in Min Cho should clearly state the maker's name and the guild that they belong to

"Article 4 : Customs and duties: 4.3 Each member state shall eliminate barriers, turnpikes to facilitate cross-border movement of homins and goods" and "4.4 Each member state shall grant temporary admission to goods free of duty" - These can be seen as an opening to trading with the mauraders - who are killed as soon as they enter any other city on Atyss

"Article 5 : The Commission: 5.2 oversee its further elaboration" further elaboration of the code is expected, this could be undertaken after the trial period of free trading in Min Cho; "5.3 seek to ... facilitate trade relations" again we need to follow the ideals of the agreement to see where this facilitation leads us.

Furthermore - this is no "Tryker frivolity" but is part of the essence of the Zora race itself and this would not be the first time Zora's have benefitted from the mauraders, a further quote, from the Medic - A Zoraï occupation "... some Zoraï scientists got their hands on an amber cube from the Old Lands that contained lost knowledge of the Medic occupation. Nobody's quite sure where it came from, though accusations fly that they purchased it from the Marauders ..."

Without trade - there can be no alternative to the protections we already have ... again it may be that we need to prepare ourselves for an uncertain future ..."

Perhaps, Virg thought, a certain Trykerette needed reminding of what once was.

An Izam flaps in.

To Virg from Mac'Od Bittty:

The Marauders are not a State. Guilds are not States. Individuals are not States.

The FTA only covers the Nations and the vendors adhering to those nations. It does not apply to guilds, individuals or affinity groups.

I sympathise with your arguments that Marauders should be able to trade, but until they show that they can be trusted to behave in a civilized fashion, it is not unreasonable for the Nations (or as they are sometimes called, States), being the sources of civilization, to act to protect their citizens, subjects and patriots.

Mac'Od Bittty, Ranger Aspirant

P.S. Rangers are a state of mind, not a State.

I am Virg, of the Tryker nation. I am a Tryker homin and I have protected Tryker homins. I have also proudly protected Fyros and Zorai homins. I fight for homins. Just because I do not like the government does not make me any less part of my home nation. (Not my finest writing but I am half asleep here).

The Tryker Government have violated and sullied the Free Trade Agreement of 2516.

Lordoy Virg

As I sit a write this a request is on it's way to the citizens of the lakes and the Taliar to reconsider their decision ... so much has happened recently to Guardians of Shadows that I had forgotten the many hours spent searching the libraries of Zora to find details of the Free Trade Agreement

I can only hope that this will be reconsidered at the next meeting of the Talair

You WAS "of the Tryker Nation" now you are enneny of all nations. it's the marauders choice.

You HAD "protected Tryker homins" now you kidnapp them (see Grizabella RP story)

(be carefull, i think some players mix rp and hrp in ryzom. you are in the rp-forum section, so that's normal that ennemy are anwelcome in nation activity. => see our tell Virg!)

i'm ok to talk about in game when you want, calmly :)
