Calling all male homins from free to play to subbed members! LISTEN UP!
I'd like to see a fun little contest brought back to atys, that I competed in many years ago, called "Mr. Atys". The contest consists of the male contestants being judged on their best LA/MA/HA outfits, speech writing abilities (and other various things to be determined). There will be a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place prize for those with the most votes.
An entry fee of the steep price of 100 dappers is required for any male homin wanting to compete!
Please take a vote on this forum post to express your opinion.
If many are interested, I will begin working on more details and if not, well then you're all fancy Rotoa Flowers!
Oh, yes -- I, Lilz, will be hosting this fabulous event.

(Ladies, if you are interested in a "Miss Atys" my lovely wife Marikka will be hosting it a few weeks after this event)

Other: I think it's a marvelous idea for someone to take over running this, if only as a one-shot deal. People have had lots of fun at previous incarnations of this contest. The Event Team has helped out in the past as well.

That being said, it's not the sort of thing I'm interested in, so I probably won't attend.

I did attend a few in the past (as a visitor, of course) and thought them amusing. A problem I see, though, is the limited ability of most possible participants to express in another tongue than the own, so to say. To say it differently: how will you judge the charm, the wit, the beauty of language if one speaks the Aniro dialect, one the one from Arispotle and the third the one from Leanon? And if they all try to speak the same dialect, aren't those who do their best, but aren't perfect in another dialect but their own already "losers"?

Every contest has its ups and downs. If a homin is weak in one area of judging that does not mean they are weak in them all, The judging will be done by all the homins in attendance and each vote will be tallied up and i myself will announce each contestants place in the contest. As for previous Mr Atys Contests i did compete and it is a bunch of fun.

Dont be stealing my contests ideas! and yeah the problem with the speeches on Aripostal was that each homin had previously made a macro speech, this contest will be NO macro speeches, they will have a small window of preperation time before hand.

Think atm it's been organized by some french players but they do it like multiple evenings and they 3 are the judges and took them 3months last time to determine who won. (Yes search forums took 3 months)

I've been toying with ideas how to make it more direct myself with some cookies since everyone attending sending a tell is just pure 'hell'. One of the ideas would be a google form all can go to or trough WebIG maybe.

If everyone attending can vote like old aristople then I'm most defenitly in. If it would be just some 'judges' then I wouldn't bother turning up not even to watch.

Aye the voting system is still being tossed around like a greek salad, however the only judges are all those in attendance at the contest itself, so its purely the peoples winner. and not who any judge want.

The problem with that is if they all won a catagory, and then we'd have an issue with a tie, etc. it will all be solved if this goes through, which its looking like it wll

Hi all, Miss and Mister Atys is a very good idea!
and yes some FR-players organized it into the past too.
The last have been stopped because IRL. that's why it was during 3 months.

this event-type permitt to be all present and live a relaxed moment.

do you post this event in other communities Lilz? or jut for Aris-players? (just a question :) you can organize an event for your community^^)

if you need help or idea, you can contact Stcentor or Centor who had organized this too.

I long for the day when we get these forums all merged ... but you can just click at the bottom of the page and get the other forums, Lilz, and put it in events in english - clicking that english button - good to have events and information go to all different langauge speakers

Of course - being a pasty matis who was once a runner-up, you might like to narrow the competition?
