IDEAS FOR RYZOM

This has been suggested before - but here goes

When an op is won make it only owned by the guild that won it for 3-4 weeks - then it goes back to npc - and that guild are barred from getting it again for 3 months

That way we would be able to get some circulation of ops and the joys of mats and battles

Does not seem right to have an op in same guild hands for a long period of time,,, and I am sure we have all seen this on all servers - bit like playing game just for mats instead of good old fashioned role play

This idea of "I'm offended". Well I've got news for you. I'm offended by a lot of things too. Where do I send my list? Life is offensive. You know what I mean? Just get in touch with your outer adult. (Bill Hicks)

Interesting idea. This would certainly create more OP battles of a faction against NPCs however this would not mean weaker factions would get a chance of owning OPs (they would just have it taken off them very quickly and perhaps earn 1 mat).

This would just create the same OPs circulating around 1 faction. As guilds distribute OP mats around their faction anyway this would not make any difference to the net flow of OP mats in my opinion.

Also with guilds not being able to hold onto OPs they would look towards other OPs, perhaps in the hands of weaker factions, which would at first generate more wars but end in the utter dominance of all +q200 OPs by one faction.

But other guilds will help whatever guild does the declare, but do you mean that a stronger guild would attack them? Again other guilds would help defend

True - but it might be more fun for another guild to hold an op for maybe the 1st time.

And we might/would still have the neutrals defending kara ops in kara lands and kami ops in kami lands to try and even the chances up a bit

I don't think so - I do not think any faction wants to own all over 200 ops

Don't think it a good idea then, Maxxye?

One good point brought up on french forum is that the "owning" op would prob not share mats - so might reduce op mat distribution - maybe own op for 4-6 months?

(think that is what he said anyway)

It is a very interesting suggestion for sure. For me personally I don't have a problem with the way it is now. My guild does not own an OP and it really doesn't matter if I do or not. I like the fact that in this game you have to somewhat "work" for what you achieve and not given just cuz u complain. Now you are going to say having greater numbers is not working at all. Well how many guilds/faction/alliances have you seen split up or just quit game and how many strong guilds hold together. I think that is work enough in itself that if you happen to be strong you deserve to hold on to what your guild/alliance earned until someone works hard enough to surpass you.
I am not attacking your idea, it is an interesting suggestion but one that I personally can not agree with. Any way you try to limit it, people still have alliances and friendships so I just don't think this would change a thing. Maybe you could try making it one OP per guild max but that even goes against what I believe in as well.

As far as reduced OP mat distribution, maybe they could put in something so that the drill actually fails or wears out over time? That way you at least have to maintane the OP in some manner. The drill could actually randomly break, wear out over a given amount of time or even simply have to be removed and a new one purchased because there are no longer resources available at that area. We run out of sup mats when we dig so why would "OP materials" be any different?

Dunno, maybe, maybe not. Players have the power, if no one wants to change his way to play then it will continue like that.
Now think if one or two big guilds kamis side would change faction and become kara or marauder. What could happen ? :-)

Asking for a kami guild to chance factions? A far less drastic approach would have been the marauder and kara teaming up :P Bit late now though I guess

How you think kamis became so big ? Karas moved to them making kamis bigger, if you want changes, you have to take part to it :p. Or become marau virg, i think you slip perfectly to it ( well .. :p )

#12 [en]

Don't derail the topic, please. Changing faction is a painful process for the individual and tenfold more painful for a guild. The likeness of any kami guild going karavan in the near future is ridiculously low.

Back to topic .. I'll repeat what I said in the previous topic that suggested having to constantly defend your OP against npcs: forced fun is not fun. Scheduling fights with npcs is not fun. Besides, as already noted, it would only mean OPs would change hands within the bigger faction.

However --and sorry if this is derailing-- we could make OPs a bit like supernodes maybe? Once per week, the land around the outpost becomes a pvp region. Mats will have to be dug, depending on some super hard to get weather, and until then it's a GvG zone. Of course different outposts would have different schedules, giving the willing homin something to do all week long, and finally giving a chance to the sneaky neutral to maybe score low-q mats. Drills can be fixed, tree-bore in kami lands and trepan in kara lands.

New idea......Let's give every guild a q250 OP that produces every mat. Everyone gets a trophy today xD Free whiskey too!!

Think that would be somewhat beyond dev/s and idea looks pretty awful anyway

It might be that reverting an op back to npc every 4 months is hard to - but I suspect not

On French forum discussion is also - change factions to make game more interesting (I think - http://www.reverso.net is a bit out of it's depth) They also seem to be discussing crafting moths ...
