I am a bit curious, what is the norm for punctuation when it comes to rp here? I assume the normal [] for ooc stuff, but what is used for describing of facial expressions, body language, and such? And, are there other norms one should know about?

Thanks in advance.

I'm not at all sure that there is an agreed upon standard convention. Here in the forums some people use the text bbcodes to block descriptive stuff, but some people just write third-person narrative.

In game I see ( ) or (( )) more than [ ] for OOC stuff and people use /emotes and the /em command to do body language and thoughts. The /emote codes are very flexible. and allow substitution of text, execution without text, insertion of target, etc. See the latter portion of this post for details: http://app.ryzom.com/app_forum/index.php?page=topic/view/3464/1#1 . You can make macros to execute emotes you use a lot.

-- hope this helps. As with almost all things in this game, there will be differing opinions.

That is good to hear. I am one of these people. I stumble over the keyboard, and I make my fair share of typos, and English is not my mothers tongue (I am Norwegian),

Bitty: Thanks for the feedback, seems like people are ok with stuff as long as you are understood, sounds good to me :)
