[OOC] Some translations are missing, and I apologize for this. Last post by Erminantius is translated below.
Previous posts, by Enola and Zendae, were mentionning their search for places where to capture and keep a Kitin of the Depths. If anyone feels like translating them, please let me know, and I'll move this part further.[/OOC]

Erminantus had received lots of izam during the day. They were all on the same subject. The capture of a Kitin of the Depths had to be organised quickly. An action for which, his study group and himself ad been waiting for an approval by the matis authorities for some time.

He had hence contacted directly his most distinguished colleagues, along with his Grace the Duke Roki di Varello, to agree on a time when to present the details of his project to matis authorities.

The day had been choosen on 11h - Dua, Medis 20, 3rd AC 2578(*) at the foot of Bravichi's Rotoa.

Invitations were sent to Matis Noble Houses, to his Grace the Duke Rodi di Varello, to the royal botanist Cuiccio Perinia, to ser Zorroargh as a permanent guest, and to the Matis Royal House.

Posters were also stuck in each matis city so that any Jena-praying Matis would know about it and could come to the meeting.
A post scriptum ended the announcement: known ambassadors for the Zorai and Tryker people could require authorization to come and observe the meeting.

OOC: translation in German would be welcome, thanks

Notes about the encounter with Trillo Antovaldo, healer of the kitin, near the Kitin Observation Camp in Heretic’s Hovel, Dua, Frutor 20, 3rd CA 2579

Trillo Antovaldo, healer of the kitin, introduced himself, and said that the royal hunter had given him some meat for the kitin, but that the stock was getting low.
Attending homins have immediately proposed to get meat for it.
The healer didn’t know which kind of meat the kitin would prefer, but he insisted that it would die without enough food. And that it had eaten somewhere near 100 hundred meat pieces per day.
Making a note of what animals the kitin prefer will be one of the first experiments.

Trillo Antovaldo also mentionned that some kitins of the depths have come near the trap, and that each time the captive kitin has tried to break the fence to joint hem.
This could mean some kind of communication.

To Ser Erminantius, Head of the Kitin Studies Group of the Kingdom of Verdant Heights

Dear Ser Erminantius,

First my congratulations to your success in capturing a kitin of the depths. I would like to make a few proposals concerning feeding and caretaking for the creature.

My sister Diwu and me are participating in the task of providing appropriate food for the captured kitin. We experienced arma meat, from ferocious armas, usually found northeast of Paramount Stock in the witherings, to be quite effective and nurturing. Another advantage is that this is a kind of herbivores which can be hunted quite fast, even alone or in a small team. Larger creatures like ploderos, shalah, or madakam require ways more time and cause more equipment attrittion, and are close to impossible alone and hard in a small team.

To provide some data: strength level of the creature is 192, food yield per kill was 4-16 pieces of meat. After 20-30 pieces of meat the nurturing status of the kitin changes, e.g. from "it hasn't had much food recently, it is getting angry" to "It had a snack not too long ago, but that seems to have made it want more".

I would suggest that we collect data of strength level, average yield, and satiating effect of all kinds of meat that can be given to the kitin.

Further on, I consider the location of the captured creature in the observation camp Falls of the Two Totems not ideal. For homins who are not so seasoned as fighters and mages, it is fairly dangerous and difficult to cross Folly Plain and reach the location. I can imagine, additionally, that it is not easy for the scientists observing and studying the creature to get there. Not all excellent academics are excellent warriors in addition.

Beneath that the narrow cage seems somewhat inappropriate for a creature of that kind used to cross large distances and to move a lot. This unnatural enclosure may also adversely influence the results of studying the kitin.

I would therefore suggest to ponder the following proposal:

An enclosure for the kitin may be built in Majestic Garden, either south of Yrkanis near the cliff, or similarly south of Avalae, west of Davae, or northwest of Natae. The kitin will be transported to its new home once it is ready. The first task may require construction materials to be harvested according to construction plans of royal architects and zoologists, the second possibly materials for a carriage, and the participation of homins to keep the creature safe and sleeping during all of the transport.

respectfully,

Daomei Lin Carthan

OOC: I would suggest that 6 / 12 / ?? Faction Points is simply not enough to provide a motive to participate in these missions.
