I see... and sorry, didn't think about countries with a bad €/work exchange ratio. I thought about the germans i heard say that.

No objection to log in for a chat.

Different idea about that: Without changing any game mechanics, there could be a CSR review to grant players with a low value currency some free play time upon request (after they paid for a while)?

It's not only the low income areas. It's also Kids, for them 8€ may be a significant part of their allowance.

Sure using an alt is always possible, but ot having to would be convenient. And depending on how the game is set up, it might be rather simple to implement. (or really difficult, only a dev can answer that)

I like some form of this idea. I feel for the young ones living at home that have to ask their parents to sub/pay for them to be able to play this game they really feel they have fallen in love with. Then after a few months/ or 6 or even a year, their sub runs out and they cannot afford to continue playing and cannot log on again unless they start a new toon. (I have lost at least one dear player friend that way), :(

I am an old subscriber, but personally i disagree with this idea, and here the reasons why:

1. If i have to play with all the restrictions of a ftp, I can just create a free account (in fact I have one free account)
2. If I want to play my character, of course, I want it fully at my service, otherwise what would be the point? My character has 20 masters, why i should play it without them?
3. I can still chat and post into forum, so even the communication is not a real need to get my character as ftp.

But there are other reasons to consider, and are related to the survivability of the game:

1. there is no cash shop in the game (very good thing).
2. there is no other way for the game to make money other than subscriptions.

About ftp players that never subbed in the past:

Once they sub and cannot go back they fall in the same category of the olders, so the above points become valid for them too.

The idea that people don't resub because they can't go back later, is funny:

1. If I wanna sub, i will sub.
2. If I wanna go back because i don't have money, i can just roll a ftp account, given the end result will still be a character with same restrictions. And I need to level up a ftp character only once.

I'm sure very few old subbers will come back as ftp with their main characters.

But i'm sure a lot of them would resub and come back if the devs actually decide to do the right things.

With a different business solution, it would be possibile to consider such system, but actually I don't see any benefit for the game owners.

It's just my opinion.

on gilgameesh, based on the inital post here, you would have those 20 skills already at the f2p cap of 125, and all other skills you have at +125 would like wise be capped down to 125 while you were f2p, you would still own all your stuff, packers apt's ect, but would not be able to use it untill you re-sub, thus you would not have to (as sub did state) spend a few weeks power grinding a f2p to the cap, i know from personal playing that you can take 2 f2p's and a single subbed toon and make multi f2p masters in under a week for melee skills, then doing everything else is just as fast save for crafting and maybe harvesting, so all offensive and defensive skills can be done very quickly with one subbed friend, and still with decent speed alone as a f2p. being able to play with your main toon while you can't afford to sub would most assuardly keep people playing the game because they would never have to leave, and they'd miss the master skills so much they would work harder at subbing back up (i hate playing my f2p master toons when i can't afford to sub, making me miss my subbed toon even more.) the very idea posted in post #1 is a good idea, and should not be that hard to do, since it's a single code that flaggs from f2p to subbed, f2p's don't get perma-cat's, so that's a cop out to bring them up, as soon as they're flagged f2p they would go off, and all the inventory stuff would be locked out (i believe) but i agree that the dev's really should address this topic directly and help to settle this issue once and for all, with clear details and not vague answers.
