one problem with the destroyer gubani, it only spawns ONCE right after server reset's, and then doesn't respawn again untill the next server reset, same with other Choice loot dropping mobs, if they only spawn once per reset, it must be a bug of sorts, unless those low grade mat's are some how more valuable then sup boss mats (which is crazy considering the stat's on those mat's is so low compared to exel and sup mats)

i like the idea of random mob's attacking in skirmishes, that's a nice idea that would add some depth. (though kitin are the main threat to all homin life, any critter on the tree can go "crazy" from the goo and attack homins)

event tied mob's like valcorenoch don't seam to be triggered at all, thus many players have never seen them, and have no idea what killing them would be about. sure they're special for events, but how about letting homins kill then randomly outside of events, because the events are ran by scrips, someone just has to run them, no reason they can't be set to run on a more set pattern that will allow more homins to see and kill them.

let's face it, as the population of the server slowly get's smaller due to the stagnation, there's less and less reason to keep playing, we need changes before we are all forced to find something new to play (sooner or later there won't be enough players to keep the income of the game high enough to pay for server and up-keep, thus we'll all loose the game we love, the dev (yes one) needs to consider that before there's no ryzom to develop)

We certainly need more different bosses, there are several theoretical recipes I can't try out simply because the boss for them doesn't even exist.

And the thing about one dev isn't entirely true, it's open source, so it already got a couple dosen devs and anyone can contribute. The one dev only puts together the specific program for this server.

Also the dev map has a point: "adding respawn time to named mobs"

Besides adding bosses should be something for the event team, it's the same kind of task aand we have afaik no general content team.

maybe they'll turn back on some of the bosses listed on the ryzomnomnom.com bosses list, there's ton's of them that aren't in game.

about event mob's, the event team can spawn ANY in-game mob for an event, and they can change the stats like hp and resistances up or down on the fly (in case everyone forgot the anlor winn king, he was out of hp twice and didn't die, he magically got hp back while perhaps as many as 200 homins were killing him with both melee and nuke, so making mob's that can do this or that isn't beyond their controll, it's just the fact that they aren't on enough to do it more often, or they feel they must have an event to "surprise" the server with a nice big (or tiny because they can also edit the graphic size of the mob as well)

at this point that might be one of the few things to save some of the players that are about to leave ryzom for good from doing it, when more UNEXPECTED things like that happen, there will be more reason for them to stay, because suddenly there's a reason to log in everyday and play, because instead of every 3 to 6 months or more between surprises, it's every week or two. no one's going to play if there's not anything to be excited about or look forward to. i'll say it again STAGNATION IS GOING TO KILL RYZOM. i hate the fact that we can all offer idea after idea, and thought after thought, we're the PAYING players, we know what we want to see and we try to tell them, but they don't seam to care. (sorry if that sounds harsh, but some of the issues we're talking about are years old, and still are being talked about.)

agreed that they need more bosses, and as for the fact that ryzom is open source now is indeed good, and that's nice that we could have dozens of dev's on that part, but what good does it do when nothing that they come up with is approved by WG for the one paid dev to add to the game? (just because it's open doesn't mean we'll get the content the os community makes. it also appears that it's more about bug fixes, and giving the code to the game out to people that want to make their own game, not improve the actual game it's self, how many years has ryzom been OS now? and when's the last major content addition?)

after doing some checking on things to do with ryzomcore and trying to find out just how hard what we're asking for would be, i've found out that ryzomcore has NOTHING to do with the development of ryzom it's self, it's the source code of ryzom ONLY and not a group that's making new stuff for the game, they're making totally new games from the code of ryzom.

so, again to the ONE dev we seam to have, can you please start considering the ideas we're asking for?

also, in reply to someone quoting the dev roadmap about "adding respawn time to named bosses" that it's self is hard to understand, are they talking about named (excellent loot dropping mobs) or about boss bosses (supreme loot dropping mobs), the general feeling i got from posts about "named" was that everyone's happy with the respawn time for those, and no one has an issue with them being camped and/or farmed because the respawn time is not so long that camping/farming is an issue. this topic is about boss bosses to the best of my knowledge (boss names all end in kya, kin, keth, kan, koo) and event related mob's like exterminators and the 290 goo infected gibbad that doesn't seam to have an english name.

so there's no real help from the open source community to get the things we want, we have to talk to WG about that (and we all know what that seams to get us)

Would be a radical, but internationalist approach to bosses, I am all for it ;). Yet one should see that the number of appropriate spawn places would stay limited, though. One may add some, but not so many, and less, the more bosses.

In the end, there won't be a real change without new regions, IMHO.

If a boss spawns too close to an altar, people using that altar have an advantage. Rendoketh spawns very close to Sawdust Mines kara, Kirokya close to Void kara, I believe Kibakoo is within /tar range to SC kami, etc.

+1 To bosses spawning in any area of their zone. It would make finding the good bosses a lot harder and camping specific bosses almost non- existent (can still time camp to a certain extent).

I think increasing the number of spawns should still happen though. I like the idea of a boss spawning anywhere within a region. Also as MJ mentioned bosses do spawn in really easy places. There are only a few boss spawns that are hard to kill a boss in and the boss can always be dragged somewhere safer nearby. I like the idea of trying to fish out a boss in a heap of aggro. You can kill most bosses with 2-3 masters. Putting bosses in harder spots would increase the people you need and could therefore also increase the number of guilds involved in killing a boss.

but at least rename him to vorkhan in loria...

but to put a small damper onto this approach:
it will need some not too trivial coding as the timer has to be shared across multiple AI instances as each region got their own or all bosses would need a region independent extra AI or something like that.

sounds good, then when a lake's boss spawns in PR, it's PR mat's he'll drop, or jungle, or other, which would in some ways negate the need for generic craft plans, since you can't use lake mat's in a zora craft plan (which is strange and somehow only good to limit recipes)

Would love it if each boss could spawn in any zone of their level and of course the name and mats changed;
Kinkoo with PR mats, kinkya with zorai mats etc. This could open up new recipes especially in terms of jewel crafting. Can this coding be submitted by anyone or would this need devs to do?
