IDEAS FOR RYZOM

In the past few months there have not been many OP’s battles and the ones we have had have been over almost before they start. This is disappointing as OP wars are good fun.

I would like to suggest that every OP must complete a mandatory defence against a NPC controlled force on a regular basis. Obviously the strength of the attacking force is relative to the level of the OP.

Also, it should only be the owner of the OP that completes the defence.

If the NPC force wins the war they take ownership of the OP but the losing Guild has the chance to win it back if they declare within a given timescale. If there is no declaration or the Guild loses a 2nd time any Guild may declare on the OP.

As well adding more content in to the game it will also ensure that Guilds that own OP’s need to ensure that enough players are available to defend them.

oh well if needed can drop guild join the one being attacked, defeat the npc's leave again and join your own guild, so making a rule like only owner can defend is pretty stupid all it takes is 1 alt to hold guild and all the rest can move for a 2h war.

I agree that you could do that if your Guild is not strong enough to hold the OP without relying on underhand tactics.

Simple: disable guild invites when guild owned outpost is under attack.

what about invites possible and a cooldown on joining OP wars for 2 days ? ( which would give solution to the xploit of joining a guild just for defense as well)

You make it sound like npcs would attack every week.

Actually, even easier would be check declare timestamp with guild joining timestamp and only allow to 'tag up' those who were in guild at that time. problem solved ;-)

Mandatory, forced fun is not really fun now, is it.

Besides, OP battles are a PvP thing, npcs attacking the outpost sound like boredom tbh.
The factions should somehow find a balance in order to rekindle OP battles; as it stands, short of a good chunk of kamis refusing to fight at an OP, there's little hope, no matter how much you tweak the rules; an OP could simply keep changing hands within the same faction.

This would only prove to divide the faction we have worked hard to rebuild since Nizyros divided it many months ago. If only the owners could defend how would that provide more fun for other guilds?

owning op's is a chore enough without this sort of forced defense against a computer

i believe this is not ever going to get implemented

the items you get from ops are really only needed for high end, "end game" content and the politics and effort that goes into going after them or keeping them is not a simple matter regardless of who is winning at the moment, if you were to make it any more annoying than it already is i would have 0 interest in them, personally

it's hard on diggers and crafters to have enough dappers and ammo ready
ii could list my opinions on the other aspects that might be difficult for the other players but i speak from my experience first, so that it's not contested

now if you suggest something like "the kami tribes want to test your strength, do you accept?" and then make this thing optional, with some sort of bonus, im all for that

i agree with MJ, i don't want anything else in this game to be forced, there's plenty enough already

yes, forced changes to already working systems is rather a waste of time better spent on new content that will possible bring back many of the old players that are now gone or semi-gone, how about a new region / land, something deeper into the tree then PR, where only the top "end game" players could find it fun to hang out and play, somewhere where the everyday mob's are 225 to 270 every day, and are very hard to kill, new mat's from this region, or all mats droped here at least of choice grade and be PR region mats, so they can be used anywhere in any craft. this would give everyone something to look forward to fooling with, from hunters to crafters, you could even add new dug mat's to the game as well in this new region. these mats could be generic exel or supream (gen sup mats are kitin larva), the area could be full of special OP's that players can own, though the first time they are to be won the npc's should put on a good defense, something that is worthy of many high level players comming back and paying again to play the new stuff.

my two dappers. sorry for typos
