IDEAS FOR RYZOM

Sage missions are very complex and long, and can be taken once only. A race-specific cultural item is found and returned to the race. This creates a natural race fame, that should be credited to the player at quest completion. This would provide a fine alternative to killing bandits over-and-over from the corporal missions. This will help players dovetail into occupations more quickly, as it will generate sales to the Transporters (race fame linked). This is a racial quest after all!

I have already bounced the idea off other players and CSR staff. All agree this is logical. Please reward racial fame credit at completion of each Sage mission. I suggest 10-15 race fame points reward.

and make it repeatable? :D (give a very very long cooldown timer?)

+1 for Sage Missions giving Fame
A great idea, logically consistent with the premise behind the missions, and with the Lore.

-1 for making them repeatable
not really sure why, just my gut reaction

It's bad luck to be superstitious . . .

+1 for getting race fame when you complete the quest.

Little point in having the quests repeatable. By the point when you complete the mission, you are already capable to wield more powerful weapons than the awarded one. I wouldn't repeat the same mission at a much later point.

New sage missions, available for level ~200 folks would be interesting maybe ... but Ryzom isn't supposed to be mission-based, so .. :)

personally i love the sage jewels for MY use even if i am 250 :P but less selfish, they are ideal for f2p toons (and you know.... it doesn't hurt to be kind to all even f2p :P)

sure give it a cool down of 23 hours for each fame point the mission gives, so 10 fame would be 230 hours, that way no one toon will do only this for fame, and as for the given reward, if you don't want to use it, give them to another player or sell them on the open market.

I don't agree with taking them over and over; there are 4 seperate sage missions currently, one for each race. I do strongly believe that they should provide race and factions points upon completion.

not mission based?? its the only way to make decent dappers are missions, since they made the econ so tight. sure i make a dapper or two selling looted mat's but nothing close to what a high level crafter can make in one set of missions a day. (i've had a crafter or two tell me they can make over a million doing a world tour crafting, i can't make a million in 2 weeks of selling the mat's from my high lvl grinds)

so really what would be the harm in allowing a replay? a f2p toon might get some decent gear for themselves insted of having to ask everyone to help?

just my 2 worthless dappers (though the dappers are hard to get, so maybe 2 dappers arn't so worthless these days, maybe now 2 dappers is what was 200,000,000 dappers pre merger)

give more dappers (50% more for low lvl missions up to 150) would be nice, and give everyone on the low end a chance, and those that like the crafting and sttuff will still get to 250 one day, gosh, i don't like to dig but i do it because i do like to try to craft, hmmm go figure.

ok way to many off topic things there, but ya, that's my 20 dappers on it. (and that other stuff too)

While I have multiple reasons to be against replayable sage missions, role play is the one reason that suffices imho. How would you explain gaining the same knowledge over and over yields the same rewards over and over?

Some things really should be unique. The sage missions are to be enjoyed, relished. They are special.

fair enough.
