In addition to the stop and follow command (and enter stable), I would like to have a command "step aside" causing the mektoub to steer clear of AoE range of attacks or adverse effects harming the player. The toub would go a few ten meters aside and stop.

The use of such command is obvious, during digging unstable sources, when taking on gingos, tyranchas or alike, and a couple more of that kind.

Useful, but not like real life. It is easy to move your Mek to one side, then say ´Stop`. In dangerous situations - like when you are attacked by aggro, there is no time to do this but that is as it should be. Your Mek is in danger and you have to defend it. When digging just stop your Mek a safe distance away. I once forgot this and my poor Mek paid the ultimate price for my stupidity.

Rethinking the idea, I would like to combine that with an option of slow food refill, The command might be "graze", and the toub would run up to some ten meters away looking for something to eat. That is a command you can tell your well trained horse even in RL. Food points would slowly build up again, reaching full satiation in an hour or so, speed probably varying with envilronment (desert, dry and sandy places etc. slower than green jungle and forest, different speed per season). That would be even more realistic than animals fully dependent on food bales in the inventory or being fed by the stableboy.

+1 on graze

mek full in 10 hours and not 1 hour.

+1 on Graze command

Graze command is a great idea +1

Oh, yeah! +1 on graze whilst busy :)

Graze would be awesome. It should mean much for immersion, acting, and roleplay and probably less for dapper conservation. A fillup in ~2 realtime hours might be appropriate.

I like it as long as it has consequences.

If you have turned your Mek out to graze, you need to re-equip it -- put the bit and reins back on, etc. So, Mounting or the Follow command should take longer if your Meks were set to graze rather than just waiting for you all tacked out and ready to go.

Agreed on the Graze command, would make lots of sense. However, those leaving meks outside stables would have an excuse for doing it now.

Hehe, while grazing, Mektoubs would still inhale gas from exploding nodes...Grazing would only satiate, not restore hit points either...

Thought that all the grass had already been eaten around the stables :)
More explosions to follow, I guess...

This idea will be studied.

This idea will not be used because it would involve more effort in implementation than it is worth in added value.
