I can't stand it anymore about 2-3 days now, the please-waits started up... first it was blinking every few seconds... then it starts and doesnt ever stop till close client and relog

i have not changed anything at all about my net connection or habits time i log on etc, my computer is fine my internet connection is fine the issue must be ryzom

the inability to reconnect to the server after a severed connection is terrible, the need to close client entirely, wait 1 minute and relog over and over again is making atys unlivable for this homin, has anyone else been having more issues than usual lately?

-edit- i did also install fresh and re-patch entirely to a new folder, no help

I haven't had a problem at all recently.

Have you tried using a program like ping plotter to monitor the connection to the ryzom server? Might show up where it's slowing down or dropping packets.

I once had a similar issue manya year ago and I used ping plotter and also ran a few tracert commands and next day it miraculously stopped being an issue. Almost like my ISP thought 'oh @~%$ Neela's onto us!", or am I just paranoid? :D

You can't "complete" the mainland. If one thinks one has seen or done everything there, one is kidding oneself. But be prepared to "get out what you put in," because the mainland does not coddle or hold hands.

Your PWs could be down to any number of things, at least some of which are related to how busy your local network is. If you are on WiFi this is most likely.

A workaround which would at least get things running smoothly again would be to turn off microvegetation. I usually play with it on, but if I get lag or PWs I turn it off and it solves the problem.

i''ve also had this issue, fiber to the home internet connection, hardwired gigabit home network, cpu/ram/gpu that run more then the 4 clients ryzom allows at one time without breaking a sweat. not likely to be client side unlikely to be isp, all fiber based, isp has 10gbps fiber trunk with global fiber backbone linking directly. (512gbps fiber i belive is highest OC in use{OC192})

would be nice to know what the servers net connection was, t1, ds3, oc, could help to determin issue, with relation to connection speeds.

I have not been having more than "the usual" in the way of PW's at the same times that Eruv has been having horrible problems, so I doubt that the problem is right next to the servers, but I do know that when I have done traceroute to them, the big delays (other than transatlantic) are all in Europe.

Does anyone know what the url of the main server is? I'm sure it's not www.ryzom.com.

indeed, something direct to ping and route to, good for finding number of hops as well and there's always tweaking things to make that work better for things, lolx.

good intel bitty, thx for that, and perhaps there's someone that does know the exact server url, could be a very poor server, and that would be bad, but cheep.

Finding the login server is not hard (it's written in the default_config.cfg)
The game server is another situation though as that's assigned after the login (but should be possible with a packet sniffer if you really want to know)
In the past (pre merge, 2 or so years ago) they were in the same (section of the) datacenter though - so I doubt that it's different now.

lsof | grep ryzom | grep IPv4
while the client is running. this could be the server (you'll know which one)
