thank you so much for your thoughts and vote. i can even live with a bag limit to carry on my person, same with packers, but let's make it so that homin's who would like to have the space in an apartment be at least an option, not a standard, something you can buy for your apt. the it's a dapper sink (both on the player and guild if guild's can also upgrade bulk in gh's)

please keep this going, let's get this.

i don't think that "unlimited" bag bulk is the answer.

first off if they did that, then no one would need an apt or gh.

second to that, this is something that would be of use to paying, subbed accounts, where as the unlimited bag would be of use to f2p toons. (there have to be good reasons to sub, or wg would make no money)

finally, this is a dapper sink for higher lvl'ed toons to increase space in which to store stuff in one place.

and i know that given enough time a toon could aquire enough bulk to feel as though it was unlimited, with eventual full stacks of mats, thus there should be a limit on slots to hold this back, say a max of 30,000 (30k) slots, that's alot of stuff no matter how you look at it, and with a slot limit like that, then it's up to using the bulk up as you buy it, trying to fill up 30k slots, that would in theroy take a single toon years to fill (my best guess, my dig isn't very high, go figure, i hunt mat's, but i still want more bulk to store them)
so why not, i can't understand why this would be anything anyone that didn't want it would notice, as they just wouldn't invest the dappers to do it. and then there are those like me, that would love to store up more, i want to play around with the crafting, so i want to have a huge pile of mat's to do it wish, then one day i'll have a good "cook-book" with the ability to do something of use to myself, as well as my ability to help others.
for that matter, with the mat's in bulk, one would be able to help others, perhaps they just need a random mat you have, and you have a pile, well, sell them one for cheep, or be generous and give it to them. so why not give us a good dapper sink, something we could all use and enjoy.

perhaps i can get some ideas from the dev's, as they would have to have something to do with this, hell anyone that's doing any kind of coding for the game, tell me if what i'm asking for is too much, perhaps you can explain to me if this is the simple thing i see it as, or a adversely complex process that would take a intel sized team of programers and big blue to make it happen.

so lay it on me, let's have some constructive additions to this single idea, adding apt space, i've heard some con's of the idea, while i don't agree, i do see what they're trying to say, i just don't quite understand, how is this a bad idea, and where does it harm players or gameplay?

and if your all for this idea, read over the good points in the thread, post additions and/or new points, i would love to hear the thoughts of the supporters of this idea, so i can make a more dedicated push to getting something we want.

i still wish i could get this posted in other languages to share with the other players, and get an over-all ryzom wide opinion on this idea, too bad i can't seam to find the help i need for that... yet.
and sooner or later maybe we'll get all the old suff back so they can really start working on the new ideas like this one.

been a long time since i was able to drop in on the forums, i've seen since being back that the views have went up, but the votes are about the same, i guess that at this point people are tired of the idea, or have an army of alt's to use, or one man guilds to use as storage, but i still think this would be a very simple and useful upgrade, i would rather spend the dappers on upgrades, as aposed to making alt's to use a pack mules, who wants to have 50 f2p alt's to hold a ton of mat's or gear, not to mention keeping track of all the items that each alt would have, is this really asking too much of the dev's to work on? how hard is it? someone tell me that and i'll really stop pushing this, but everyone i talk to that has knowlage about this type of stuff, says it doesn't sound too hard, but the dev's (maybe there's only 1 or 2 of them and thats why we never get anything, they're over worked) are always busy with everything else to look at some of the ideas we post.

I think its because after a while many people realize that most of the stuff they saved really doesn't need to be saved. Things we save .... reason we stop saving.

Kill mats ..... more efficient to dig, so sell
Old gear ..... never gonan use it again
Dig mats .... craft off / sell at hawker
Dig mats .....store on vendor

that's true freddy, but i have no idea what to keep and what to toss, as i'm sure some of it is good to use for crafting, and i'd like to play with crafting receipes to learn what's the best, and i don't know if kipee craft is really a good way to play without wasting mats ingame, also, if KC is good to play with for a close idea of what you get in the end when crafting in game, you'll still need the mat's to craft with, and i'd hate to sell mat's that i'll need, so i like the idea of having more bulk to store them with, and without a slot's upgrade as well, you do have a limit as to how many different things you can keep just not a much a limit as to how many. (untill that is you reach a full stack of one mat, then you would eat a 2nd slot for the next stack.) though i don't plan to have a stack of 999 of any one mat, maybe say 100 of each mat, but that will eat up bulk as well. as someone posted here in the past, they want to get 1 of every mat, and they run out of slots with lot's of bulk left.

It's very easy to see what to keep and what to toss using Arc's database which is now available as an in game app. Mats have two uses .... make good stuff and make grind stuff. Grind stuff you shud grind off eaach day. Good stuff ya savetill have have ya ingredients list full and then ya make ya thing.

Kipeecraft is great .... no need to have all mats if ya got that.... just go for the ones in ya fav recipe

I think HA eats most mats, so for experimenting, at most you'd have to collect 9 items of 5 wood types, for a total of 22.5 bulk. Well, times 5 if you want to have all grades at the ready, although I'm yet to hear basic being used in anything. With a bit of juggling, you can store most everything in your apartment, nevermind the packers.

Although, when factoring in your personal items - 3/4 sets of armor, 2/3 sets of jewelry etc .. yeah, I see how things can get cramped really fast.

and i really like all those points mjollren and freddy made, i don't understand what it could hurt to offer an upgrade to bulk, providing they give it a decent price vs the amount given in an upgrade, i think there would be alot less f2p toons made just to hold someone's "extra" stuff, and less guild's made just to have acess to a guild hall for the larger storage. think of the guy that's paying for his one too, has each toon slot on that account in a different guild and a f2p toon that is only created to hold mat's while someone log's one toon to another at the char select screen.

but that's another part to the reasons that this would be a nice upgrade, if that one toon had say 50,000 bulk in his apt, but still the 1000 slot limits he could hold the mats and gear he wanted, maybe they could offer a slot upgrade with the last bulk upgrade.

the bunnies have of course made valid points but i have to side with mr. irc here because:

in order to really experiment fully with craft recipes you really do need either alts or a GH, there are 47 dig mats in the same lets say you only want to handle jewlels, thats 10 types of amber/seed and maybe i want exe and choice so thats 20 stacks of mats, ok for sake of sensibility if you want to look at precraft values (without making any items) you could get

5 each of:

each of the 10 seeds in choice and exe so thats 10 x 5 x 2 = 100 mats, thats not much, you could even collect some of the exe loot eyes/nails... ok sure. for personal experimentation no one needs a guild hall of their own but!

what if you already have some recipes and you want to help people on atys by making for them, or at least having mats on hand to give the master crafter, i have a gh of my own with about 200-300 of most of the exe dig mats in jungle (since jungle is logically easier to dig in with less aggro) this would never fit in my apartment, now i must use alts to get into the gh and trade mats to my main to give mats to freddy to craft for my friends-- ok so i bear this... but is it really the way it has to be?

do the higher ups not realise how many people have spare gh's just to hold things that ARE useful for the sake of helping others? atys has a very good, very strong close community, unlike some other MMOs that maybe have more content, more frequent updates, more income.... many stay here for community

should we have to go through this much hassle to help others? is it really for myself that i have alts and alt ghs? no not really, i can go out and dig what i want when i want and i have some levels to make what i have to for lower level players but then you factor in things like ... exe seeds are summer/winter... thats 4.5 days to wait till i can dig them if wrong season, some mats take 9 days (2 seasons) to come back on surface

you could say ok just make them choice crap -- yes we will do choice if no other .... er... choice.... but

hoarding to help is a common phenomenon, PT and bunnies probably have many who have alts and a gh of their own to hold mats to craft with, i know many individuals who do it

i do not see the harm in a moderate upgrade in space, so some people will hoard useless things that they wont ever use, let them. the rest of us want space for useful and helpful endeavors too

I guess its a matter of perspective ... I dont have a set of exe or sup armor, I don't have a single weapon yet since Im finding I just dont need it. With amps, pick and craft tool I can go anywhere and collect any mat solo. Im finding this time around that that uber set oif armor or weapon really doesn't change my fight outcomes very often. A knowledgeable teamate overcomes the lack of uber gear.

I have never really thought of "designer" jools and never had an exe set, let alone a sup set ... never had a set w/ any mob mats. Yes that's "me" but the part I dont get is why I would I experiemnt w/ real mats ? Thats what Kipeecraft is for :)

I ran the HA mats bank on Arispotle outta my apartment .... kept enuff for two sets in there on average. It never seemed worthwhile to me to chase down exe / sup stuff till I was well over level 200 ... didnt see sense in spending more time chasing mats down than I wud wearing it.

And BTW, I cant afford a GH :) .. saving up to replace my stolen E'urokan plans :)

Just a quick re on Kipeecraft: Fyrosfreddy, some people like to come up with their own recipes, and want to find out how the game works from within the game - for the fun of it. If you do that, you do experiment with real mats..

#42 [en]

further, ok Kipee Craft, i've been told it's not always accurate on what you'll get in the end, sure it's good to get an idea, and i do use it, but i've found that the mat's it wants me to use, and in numbers will take a master digger time to collect, and large teams to hunt the 270 bosses for the parts needed from them, they only spawn every 3 days, and what happens when you kill that boss and get none of the mats you really needed, then you have to store the other mats you did get (remember they only pop every 3 days and who know's who in your guild or friends list might need those mats you did get for their own crafting endevors, thus it would be nice to hold onto those for a few days to give to that friend that's not often on)

ok let's go at the hording angle, ok someone hordes everything they ever get, with the limit to the slots in the apt they can only have so many odd's and ends before your out of slots, with the higher bulk you could at least have decent stacks of needed mat's to craft "better" gear (sure you could make it choice, but if you can get the mats for exel or sup, why not make the better stuff, not using it is hording, but holding it till you can make a full set isn't a bad deal)

like Eruv said it's kind of a pain to log alt in and out of the other guild halls just for mat's and gear, and i think WG might like all the F2P toons made just for that, it give's them inflated numbers as to how many "people" play the game, while that's not a true number, it does something for the appearance of lot's of players playing the game, and bigger numbers makes them look better in their eyes, but the true player base know's about the alt's just as much as they do, and any new player to the game will soon learn that for every one true player there are most likely at least one not so true player run by the same person.

Also like Eruv said, i'm here for the strong community of players, we all work together to play the game, when not at a OP war or in PR digging SN's you can find me grinding with players that at other times i'm trying to kill and not get killed by. not all players in each faction/religion do that, but there are alot of us that will, we have friends, sure we'll try to kill each other at a war or sn, but when it's over we can joke and laugh about how i killed them or they killed me, and the fun that we had doing it makes the game that much stronger. (i know some of that is a little off topic, but it does go with the community angle, which could benefit more if we could store more for use in that same community. {though not likely that i'd share my uber gear with players that would then use it to kill me, but maybe that gear will help someone on my team in that setting not get killed as fast, or maybe get a kill they otherwise would not have gotten}

i know i'm always so long winded and talk alot, but hey, i've got thought's and don't mind shareing them with everyone on the big tree.

to any and everyone, have fun on the big tree, and who know's maybe we'll get lucky and get this and the guild hall bulk upgrades, even if the slots never go up, more bulk will help alot.

The reason KC was creatyed any why so many of us invested our time and effort helping arc refine and improve it is that you can spend an inordinate amount of time seeking out and finding mats that ultimately have no interest or value to you.

Sure you can search it out on your own if that's your thing .... kinda like just randomly choosing restaurants or vacations spots versus using restaurant or travel guides. Or just jumping on the road "to go somehwere" or choosing a destination and using a map. Sometimes it's fun to do that, but that doesn't in any way reduce the value of a map.

i like kipee craft, i have it, i use it, it gives me ideas, but even KC tells me i'll need this and that and x number to make this and that, what if i want to outfit say 10 toons with the same sets of HA, so what i have to dig/hunt enough for 5 craft those then do it all again, what if there's a RP deadline? (i don't do RP much) what if it's a craft mission grind, and i go to all the HA mission giving overseers and get all the ha missions at once, then go to my apt to make the armor, will my apt as is right now hold all the mats for the 15 or 20 missions that i'll get?

On Arispotle I ran a HA Mats Bank. I put all my HA mats in GH (Sup Tama, Glue, Irin, Silverweed) that I dug. As peeps collected their mats, they could put 260 mats from that list in any combination and I would make up what they were missing. At any given time, there was always 5 or 6 sets in Apt and always cupla thousand mats in GH.

I understand your examples, but how many peeps ever found themselves in a position to make 10 saets in one sitting ? I have not heard of any such game imposed deadlines. Why must you craft in apartment ? These ar all "self imposed" limits, not game limits.

I don't really use vendor storage. I keep a mektoub near a hawker in all 4 above ground regions. I dig a bag / mek full of mats, I craft off the mats and put HA on vendors.... . Rinse and repeat just one time and I got 12. Not really a problem. I know other peeps that store 10k mats on vendors, then stand at stables and craft....thats 46 sets of HA.
