well virg, i did have a thought about that, there could be 2 options, option one would require the help of myself and a few other cookies, we could heal a mara until they were close enough to the npc to use invul and buy it (not the best option, but i would be willing to loose fame and die to help the mara on this.) option two would be to make a special trigger to allow mara's to buy them all at once.

while one option would be a pain for all invloved, the other may be a pain for the dev's to code.

my inital idea that the npc's we buy apt's/gh's from would offer a new menu option that would just allow buying of more bulk for said apt/gh.

i agree that these would make it harder for mara's to do, (and i hate to do anything that would give one group an advantage over another) the mara way of life is a harder one and as such would require more risk and more effort to get the same things as civ neutral or civ aligned players.

i would like to simply see the option to buy more bulk, but i thought the more options i offer the dev's the more chance there will be for us to get them.

(also virg, i'm sure there's at least one player in syndi that has an alt that's not full mara, and anyone could make a f2p alt to buy the extra space, after all for a guild they need only be a member of that guild to buy the extra space, cause f2p's can make and own gh's)

i promiced to do this in the past and now here it is, links to posts related to bulk upgrade request of the past. (really starting to feel ignored by the dev's about this much requested feature)

i could find several more on the old forums, but thought that this was a good start. there are several on new forums, but for the last two years my two have been the active ones. (not sure on the non-english forums, as the results were limited to english; if there are similar thread in other languages, i would love to have links posted here by anyone willing.)

it's very clear that bulk and slot's are importiant to a large number of the player base, i'm not the only one. i'm true to my word that: I WILL NOT GIVE UP ON THIS PATH BECAUSE IT IS A VALID REQUEST!! (nay say all you want, it's clear that more of us want it then are against it, even historically proven with the old forum's poll)

ya know, this shouldn't be that hard to do, based on some reliable sources i've spoken with, it's not something that would take much work or effort to really offer us. (when i have 1m bulk and 50k slot's in my apt i'll shut up about this, till then, the talk will not give up.)

well then, i can sure say that customer satisfaction really isn't that big a deal to the company. regardless i won't stop trying until the server goes down for good. i also like to look at the majority of people that think positive, and focus less on the negative minority involved (because they don't have to use it).

which is a exact quote that says they're looking into it, so i hope to see this on the dev roadmap very soon, after all it was "looked into" over 1 year ago with no further word about it, and clearly i've not given it up even if the german players may have.

there are many other points to be made, many different ideas discussed.

i have considered something simpler and fair (i think) what if an apt had the bulk of a guild hall (20k bulk) and a guild hall could have 200k bulk, surely that would cover the largest guild on the server.

close to 80% would like to see bulk in GH's increase.

i know that it's far too complex to add an "upgrade" option ingame, but a flat change from xxxxxx to xxxxxxx isn't all that much work to do.

so why not go from 10,000 to say 50,000? one simple change no hassle with trying to encode all the ingame stuff, just a behind the scenes upgrade.

i guess we can dream and hope, but it would be very nice to not need to have each toon on an account own a gh just for storage of gear and extra stuff.

I think it's ridiculous that 1 member and 300 member guilds have guild halls with same capacity. Even if it takes some coding I think the best way is to make the capacity based on amount of members. For example [members] * 100 bulk.

the problem with that is the coding (it would be a huge effort that ryzom just doesn't have the development team power to do)

next there's nothing to stop someone from making 500 accounts simply to invite each toon on each account (2500) to that guild. (we have to consider any options exploits and prevent them)

that's why i went with the flat upgrade of at least 2 times the current amount, and no more then 10 times the current amount (even i can't see how we could use that much bulk, imagine 200,000 bulk, that is 400,000 mats)

but i do like that your thinking forward about things and upset with the status quo we're stuck with at this time. after checking other mmo's in relation to this idea, almost all that offer storage have a) an unlimited system or b) a system that allows you to get more space, i'm asking for c) compromise in just a single overall increase.

but the discussion is still open and the poll speaks volumes about the fact that we're not happy with what we have and would like a little more.

Talk -- the poll says nothing. It is 84 people total out of many more than that (I sincerely hope). It is self-selected, therefore having a bias towards those who read the Forums. It is in the English forum, meaning that it does not reach most of the players. It indicates that there are a number of people who want it, but it does indicate much more than that.

The question is whether it would be good for the game and worth the coding time and neither you nor I can answer that. "Other games do it" is never sufficient reason by itself.

I can think of one very good reason to continue to have this limit. It forces at least a few of the rare and valuable mats and the things created by them into the open market.
