#22 Report | Quote[en]

Dear players,

We would like to give you some further information about the latest patch.

If your client crashes after patching

If your client crashes after patching (A failed assertion occurs): Try to update your DirectX: http://goo.gl/7K9cY, or use OpenGL using the Ryzom Configuration utility.

Town Gameplay (Guild Halls and apartments)

The patch added new guild halls and apartments in towns. It is still possible to buy new ones in the capitals, and the players who have already bought a guild hall or an apartment won't have to buy new ones or empty their old ones.

  • Buying a new guild hall or apartment in the capitals
    • The system stays the same: Guild halls and apartments are sold by the usual NPC, at the usual price.
    • Access stays the same, using the elevators.

  • Buying a new guild hall or apartment in other towns
    • A NPC selling apartments and another selling guild halls have appeared in each town. They offer guild halls and apartments at a reduced price.
    • New purchase interface: you must target the seller (NPC), right click then select "Hello!" This will start a dialogue that will lead to the purchase after various confirmations.
    • The rooms can be accessed by using the elevators.

  • Access to old guild halls and apartments from towns or capitals
    • In order to allow you to keep your old guild halls and apartments purchased in the capitals before the patch, a new access system has been added.
    • Access to old buildings is no longer possible by elevators in the capitals.
    • To access them you must now use one of the terminals (they look like the former Ring terminals) that have been added into every town and capital.

    • Location of these terminals:
      • Towns: near the apartment/guild hall building
      • Pyr: next to the baths
      • Fairhaven: Windy Head
      • Zora: South of Win Cho estate
      • Yrkanis: Yasson ward

    • These terminals offer 4 choices :
    • - "Enter apartment":  Teleport to old apartment
    • - "Enter Guild Hall":  Teleport to guild hall
    • - "Activate this Terminal for access to my apartment": "move" the old apartment to the city where the terminal is located. This will make your apartment accessible from this particular terminal only!
    • - "Activate this Terminal for access to my Guild Hall": "move" the old guild hall to the town where the terminal is located. This will make your guild hall accessible from this particular terminal only! This feature is only available for guild leaders and high officers.
    • WARNING! It is impossible to activate more than one terminal. Once the activation is done, it is not possible to activate another. Therefore, choose carefully where you want to move your home or guild hall!
    • It is not possible to use a terminal while it has not been activated for your apartment/guild hall

  • Leaving old guild halls or apartments
    • You can exit by clicking on the terminal inside the home close to the elevator. The character is then returned to its starting point.

  • Town Allocations
    • Here is the list of towns assigned to each community:
      • FR : Avalae, Avendale, Thesos, Jen Laï
      • DE : Davae, Windermeer, Dyron, Hoï Cho
      • EN : Natae, Crystabell, Pyr, Min Cho

We wish you a good time ingame,

put the font back. have an option to change it. font matters. it 'really' matters to me.

OK.....all I wanna do is be able to access my old GH and my old apartment (both in my "assigned" area) by walking thru a door and not using a silly ring terminal.

Are we to assume that the only way I can do this is to abandon my old places and fork out another cupla mllion to get back what we already had ?????

I WANT A REFUND ! ! !

I'm with you, Freddy. That orange ball looks like someone is trying to cover up a mistake. Our guild hall is exactly where we want it and we don't want to move. I want to know who goofed and when are they going to fix it.

Who is this homin who wanted to move out of the capital city?, I don't think that I have met him.

For the most part everyone from the old worlds seem to be getting along well together, no need to segregate them.

Here I am! Though I do agree about the lack of a need for segregation. Min-Cho is not a bad choice, but it wasn't my first. I'd have preferred Dyron for my character's story. Still, I've got an apartment at half price about 300m or so from a Q250 dig area. I can't complain.

Not bad, Winch Gate.

I just don't underdstand why we can't choose to put our apartments / GH's right back where they were w/o having to pay a dapper penalty or deal with the orange thingie.

If I could walk up to the radioactive orange and pick "leave my apartment / GH where it is", that would be quite wonderful.

The whole ring terminal thing is due to the way that the patches are being done, as I understand it.  In order to get the apartments and guildhalls into the villages they needed to set up an access for them. In order to keep things all organized, this apparently meant that the access to the apts and GH in the cities had to use the same interface.

And yes, people have been asking for apartments and GH in the outlying villages, so WG was responding to the stated desires of at least some players.

I don't like the ring entrances either.  Perhaps at some future time they could change them for a portal in the side of a wall somewhere?

My GH is in Pyr
The segregation order has me assigend to Pyr
I wanna be in Pyr

According to the post ..... only peeps wanting to keep theoir OLD guild halls and Apartments have to do the terminal thing. Says everyone else uses same old NPC to buy and "elevators" to get in

Buying a new guild hall or apartment in the capitalsThe system stays the same: Guild halls and apartments are sold by the usual NPC, at the usual price.Access stays the same, using the elevators.

I was one that always loved the idea to have my apartment in Avendale, anyway I agree with your complaints:

first: devs should have advised that apt and gh in other towns would have been cheaper.

second: using 2 UI to do the same thing is bad programming.

third: seems devs don't wanna manage too much the original code, and prefer sticking with webig interface. Personally, i disagree with this choice for a lot of reasons, performances included, but i can understand why: easier to manage webig apps than the original codebase, considering now there are 3 different clients.

I had patience and didn't bought anything till the things would have been sorted out with the patch. I was right to wait.

Anyway, if you hate the terminal, just buy a new one. 1 million for an oldie, is easy to gain, more, if you choose another town it will be 500k, for a master crafter, that's just 2 overseers runs.

Don't blame devs for this work. they are doing their best, unfortunately not everything it's done correctly.

Overseer runs get old real fast. But that brings up another whacky thing. Overseer pays 100 times more for crafts that vendor NPC's ..... what ?????

And lotta peeps have alt GHs + alt Apartments so it adds up.

Should be able to sell the old to get new.... problem solved,
