OOC : this is the translation of an original post in french language. My aim is to tell what happened to Fey-Lin during the 8 years of Exodus, the story of Ranka is obviously linked (you'll understand why by reading) as well as many events that happened before. Those will maybe have a translation later, but at least I summarized them in the first chapter

More texts are coming, in french first, and will be translated.
If you notice something wrong in the text, please send me a mail ingame.

By the way : sorry for German peoples, i won't translate this in your forum section

Unkown day of Fallenor, 4th AC 2562.

Today, unable to tell the reason, Fey-Lin was feeling she evacuated all of her sorrow. Oh she would still certainly mourn for her lost husband, Kaikyo, who gave his life on this day that saw the Exodus and the second great Swarm, but it would ceased to be a constant torment. Contrary to many homins, she was suspecting, that had probably perished to save a procession of refugee, he died to save the corrupt soul of a homin, Kiriga, as well as allowing the Lae Lia family to save one of their them. Fey-Lin would learn later from her saviors that this aim was a failure. But she would always remember how Kiriga won against his damned double Kiyumé, and sacrificed himself so that her, future mother, and Ranka, the youngest of the Lae Lia that she knew, stayed alive.
Finally, not only Kaikyo removed an homin's madness, but he saved two other lives.
What a little consolation : she would terribly miss her spouse.

Fey-Lin wake-up, gave a hug to Ranka, and went out of the tent where they were they were living, in order to measure the situation. Her nin-ka clothes seemd dirty : she blackened them with hurry in sign of mourning, and the heterogenous result was letting some of the old colours show themselves. She did erase her tatoo as well : the Pure Bliss was out of range now, she didn't replace it yet, there was no time for this at the camp.
The camp ... after the instantaneous travel that they made, Ranka and her, with the Dryads, she didn't know exactly where she was, but she could say, looking at the surrounding vegetation, that this camp was lying somewhere in a secluded place of what was known as the Realm. Some of the Siblings of the Weeds had joined the Dryads here, and build this common camp. For great distance around, there were many Psykoplas, whith whom a member of the Dryads was always communicating. The sensivity of the Psykoplas let them clearly disctinguish and differenciate approaching kitins. At the slightest sign of alert, everyone was ready to unsettle the camp, and disappear in the forest without leaving any trace.

Fey-Lin headed toward the tent of the Ancient Dryad that met them to rescue them, Ranka and her. She introduced herself, pushing aside the hanging, and entered. As her hostess made a sign of the head, she sat down in front of her.

- Deles Silam, Fey-Lin Modin*. I was waiting for you to come.
- Deles Silam ... Taliané-ko**.
The old matis smiled hearing this melting of Matéi and Taki Zoraï.
- You have probably many questions, take your time to ask them. Let me introduce myself : my name is Sevalda Ginti.
Fey-Lin complied to her words, gathering her questions, organizing them, eliminating the rhetoric ones in order to go at the essential, using an intellectual practice that was good to recover.
- Ki'atal ...
- Unfortunately, the blue sister of Slavenis is no more. We couldn't make it in time, but we felt her last call to Atys. I believe her soul chose to rest with those of her hominous family, instead of her vegetal family.
Fey-Lin learned this revelation gravely, Ki'atal would have forgiven her not to drop a single tear at this time, she had already too much cried. Now then, Ranka was under her responsability until his adulthood. Poor little white Kami***, suddenly without his mothers, his sister, far from his grand-parents.
- How did we arrive here ?
- I cannot explain that right now, but I believe you're smart enough to understand this later by yourself, once you'll have learned everything you need to, by the pact that bind us from now on.
Fey-Lin considered this answer pensively before moving on :
- Did the homin Exodus succeed ?
- I'm sure it is.but it's impossible to say in which measure it succeeded.
- How many times ....
The Matis kept silence.
- Chow many times will we have to stay here, Ranka and me ?
- The required time, of course. At least until you both learn, and until the paths are safe again, out there.
Fey-Lin noded her head, finally, ithere are questions that cannot be avoided, even with the best will.
The Dryad resumed :

- You suffered a lot, but you're fare from having lost everything, you know that. Take care of what you still have, without any resentment. We will teach you what ahs to be. And you'll have to take care to these knowledges too. Now, go.

Fey-Lin stood up slowly, sending a brief approving sign of the head to Sevalda. She stayed like this, standing in front of the Matis without any word for a moment, and let all ot her duties invest her.
She went out of the tent headed toward Ranka. The time had come to comfort him with the affection he deserved, and not with this cette facade she had to show because of her own mourn.

* "Greetings, sister Fey-Lin"
** Litteraly "Linked with plants" or "allied with plants", Zoraï translation of "Dryad"
***Understand "little white Kami" in the same way as "little blond angel" for exemple, being a Tryker child seen by a Zoraï woman.

"You aren't my mother !"
Ranka leapt out of the tent before Fey-Lin may hold him back. Standing up with difficulty, she went out to see him quickly go amongst the refugees. Her pregnancy required her to rest, so did she resign to wait for his return.

The orphan was running, furiously drying the tears on his cheeks. He was already regretting to have caused sadness to Fey-Lin, but her attentions became unbearable to him. He was confusedly feeling that he would betray his mothers memories by letting her occupy a too significant place in his heart.

He slowed down, certain not to be pursued. Close from him, under the shadow of a big tree, childrens were crowding around a matis botanist. Led by curiosity, he joined them.

The matis people he was mixed with from now on were different from the Royal Subjects différents and their haughty gait, that he sometimes had seen traveling through the Temple-City when he was younger. Those here weren't dressedup or wearing make-up, and if someone approached them with respect, they wouldn't grow any pride.

Under her young pupil's look filled with wonder, the dryad was applying a balm on the large scar caused by a kitin on an ancient tree. One of the children asked a question :
"Why do you use Dorao's resin, and not another one, Serae Zane Sichio ?" She smiled and finished appplying the mixture before answering. "As mistress Ginti teached me, each vegetal species has its own particularities that make it essential for the Equilibrium. You know those of our friends and protectors, the Psykoplas, Slavenis and Cratchas. You still have to discover many others in order to heal the New Lands when the time will come. The Dorao is the highest tree that ever exists, and his* resin has the property of helping the sap to circulate and irrigate the foliage."

At the end of this improvised little lesson, each child put his forehead on the trunk of the tree, wishing it a swift recovery. Ranka imitated them, wthout understanding the sens of such a ritual. Zane Sichio brought him back to the tent of her guardian while the other children were rturning to their own family. Fey-Lin was waiting with anxiety. She didn't scold him, leting him take some rest while she was speaking with the botanist.

*used on purpose instead of "its", because of the way Dryads consider plants and trees.

Quinta, Thermis 17, 3rd CA 2563

Fey-Lin looked for a moment at her belly, now almost flat when it was still round yesterday. She gave birth to two twins. Her union with Kaikyo was at least blessed with fertility, if not with shared happiness. Lying on her bed, she turned the head toward the large wicker craddle which was sheltering her daughter and son. Her missing Kaikyo had save one more life than expected. In her most tremendous dreams she conceived mystic speculations allowing her to meet back his soul and consciousness, his homin condition being taken away. But she had to keep her feets on the bark, one cannot feed her faith with her desires, without falling into madness.

Fey-Lin was remembering the past three cycles. She was certainly the first homin woman to bring life in this camp that she joined. Her sap siblings, mostly some Siblings of the Weeds, had remarkably applied Zoraï custom : her daily life was simplified, efforts were saved to her. Any non-Zoraï homin woman would have felt ashamed, or would have rebelled, being treated like a child, or worse, like a disabled, but Fey-Lin was enjoying these efforts of her entourage, grateful for its value. Indeed, Zoraïs know that one who is not born yet, feel multiplied tenfold anything her mother experiences. The least spell would cause an abyss of missing sap, the least agitation a tossing, the least abrupt gesture : a violence.
The young Mi* to be kept then busy educating Ranka, et used her free time to hum sweet songs at her belly, in order to comfort the child, childs in fact, in the absence of their Pa**. Thinking about him again, Fey-Lin reallized that Kaikyo's considerations, always incitating her to caution, was the beginning of his role of husband and father, that he would finally never have hold, when he actually would have excelled at it.

Holeth, Floris 18, 4th CA 2563

Today was the day of the first Dryad rite for her children. As well as for Ranka et Fey-Lin, a few cycles ago, they would be introduced to the flora, during the first month of Floris since their arrival in the tribe, that is, since their birth.

Once the moment right, Fey-Lin entrusted An-Haï to Ranka, and kept Haï-Laï in her arms. Then both joined a procession moving in the forest. In a clearing occupied by sentient plants, the group settled down forming half a circle around Fey-Lin and Ranka, both keeping the newborn babies. A Dryad ceremony mistress then took a bowl of sap, prit alors un bol de rempli de sève, dipped her finger into it, and appended a mark on the forehead of Haï-Laï then An-Haï in turn :
"May the plants recognize you by this sign"

Fey-Lin moved then Haï-Laï near a Slaveni, a Psykopla, and finally a Cratcha. Ranka did the same with An-Haï.
Haï-Laï, who was very cheerful, looked at those vegetal shapes, happily gurgling. Once in front of the Cratcha, this one made its sap flowing back to its roots, causing its stem to bow . Haï-Laï grabbed both the occasion, and the Cratcha, heaving his mouth up to it, and licking briefly a pistil before the plant set upright.
When Ranka passed near the Psykopla, it slightly chimed, and An-Haï waved arms and legs with high spirit, smiling. In front of the Slaveni, this one slowly set upright, and held out a leaf to the baby, An-Haï watched it,opening wide eyes. As for her brother, the bulb of the cratcha bowed very near An-Haï, who stretched out an arm, touched it and gave a start at this contact.

Another translation of a text originally posted in french forum by Ranka.

Quinteth, Mystia 5th, 4th CA 2564

The plant's gift had touched the dryads. Refugees and children wer watching with respect the effect of the psychodrugs on their venerated guides. Some singings rose spontaneously, continued here and there. Dances were being improvised. Even so, Ranka and the others could just be struck by the consistency uniting the whole dryads. One could say they accessed to some kind of collective conscioussness, like the plants with whom they shared the sap.

An-Haï and Haï-Laï were following with their glance their mother performing a dance. Ranka was smiling, reading joy on their faces. During a moment, he thought about his family. She wold have appreciated the atmosphere of celebration and fraternity which was reigning on the camp, heating hearts during this cold winter evening.

Gicha Ciri, leader of the tribe, suddenly stood up . The psykoplas were ringing; the alert was meaning that an insectoïd patrol was coming into their direction. Immediately, everyone bustled about making the packages. Two Siblings of the Weed installed Sevalda Ginti, the dryad's dean, on a carried chair, while Zane Sicho was gathering their belongings. Ranka was hunging back, contenting with caring and comfurting Fey-Lin's children until the end of the preparations. Quickly, the refugee convoy started its journey, guided by Shuai-Nang Du, the tribal scout, to one of the intelligent plant knoll, well-known by the tribe.
