IDEAS FOR RYZOM

Im not sure if this has been suggested before, so I apologize if it has.

Basically the idea is to have a web app where you can list outpost attacks, have it so they can select the OP, a time, a TP ect.

Having all the outpost attacks in one app would allow for people to be able have it shown in the language selected by the user, and prevent people needing to check 3 forums to view if there is an outpost attack.

Also have the listing only visible to certain players (Kami, Karavan, Marauder or Neutral)

Thanks

Nice idea. Maybe this app could also show the current owners of an OP.

Currently there are several websites that strive to achieve this. But they rely on user input, and some are confusing because no longer maintained.

Btw, the restriction to show the content only to players of a certain fame, does not make sense to me: Every player can have multiple characters and easily level them to different fame and thus have access. Why would you want to close it down anyway?

Personally, I do not participate in OP attacks. Maybe I will at one time - out of curiosity. But I still like to follow what's happening. Even as a neutral, maybe especially as a neutral, I'd like to know about the politics going on around me.

I've heard that the devs don't want to give this information (OP ownwers) through API.
So I'm afraid there will be no other way than relying on user input...

I can see why not in some use cases like for instnace:
Guild goes inactive but there is a guy logging in an alt he has in that guild every week to take out mats and donate to his guild. If another guild would do a stealth att on that op chances are nobody would find out before it's to late. If every att would be posted in webIG then that guys guild and his friends could come to defend the inactive guild.
I can see a much more dynamic structure to do or try stealth attacks if it's not showing in webIG forcing ppl to check for themself. And I see alot more drama this way aswell, and who doesn't like some good old ryzom drama :)

I am against the display of ongoing attacks aswell, but I see no harm in displaying the current owner of the op. Should be added to the API in similar fashion like the list of registered guilds.

This idea isnt intended to be an automatic thing, just like having the kami/kara/marauder forum for OPs and with a user specific language,
This has nothing to do with the API, who owns the guild ect the only thing that would be in that is fame requirements for different pages
