IDEAS FOR RYZOM

With the severe cutbacks we've been given to dapper generation, maybe it's time to bring back something old: bandit loot. Once upon a time, bandits actually dropped dappers; wasn't much at all, maybe a dozen or so. But it was SOMETHING!

Whatever bandits do for a living out there must be profitable if they keep doing it despite the constant danger/inconvenience posed to them by adventurers.

This plus bandit-killing missions would allow those who don't enjoy foraging/crafting to earn a nice living.

Even if its only armour, weapons or jewels these can be sold (or used).

I agree!
Would be nice if they would drop even objects sometimes, weapons or gears they were using or something.

Absolutely not. Having bosses that drop jewelry is bad enough.
If you want to argue that equipment loot doesn't hurt anything because it wouldn't be as good as the best equipment crafters can make, I'll argue that inexperienced crafters and crafters who have yet to gain access to the best materials are already undervalued. Adding (more) equipment loot would make people even less interested in buying any halfway decent items such crafters manage to make, much less buying them at fair prices.

Not easy to forecast what will be in such a complex system, it would only add a bit more variability, which would be fun. It would be even more RP oriented, i mean NPCs are wearing gears and weapons, where do they go? Are they just disappearing or going broken every time? :)
I would like to see unique objects dropped too, but this is only my opinion.

Actually all primates drop jewelry and not only bosses... the jewels from the normal cutes, frahar or gibbai ar without any boots though...

so if bandits would drop gear that could be crafted with the generic low quality material and doesn't have boost there wouldn't be anything speaking against it or maybe even items that give a degrade on some stats

Like a focus+hp degrade because they're very rough cut so the seams are very thick and rubbing your body (thus hurting/wounding you)
and they'll get destroyed very fast because the seams are not very well made

They can still be sold (or worn for RP reasons if they have an other design) but their actual value is very low.

And (as I suggested in another thread) it might be better to not have all bandits drop something but "receive" a key for their chest as loot from the last bandit slain so anything could be in the chest... dappers, normal animal loot, normal raw materials, just some empty bottles, ... it could even be one very high quality item with a chance of 1 in a million or so BUT never above the region level

Just as an example:
The bandits just below the clopper hill could have a very high chance for having clopper parts in their chest a bit lower chance for shooki, goari and kizoar parts (they are very close by too) and of course dappers they robbed from homins - everything else would be possible as well but with a VERY low chance.
