5 Harvestor, 3AC, 2570

This will be my last entry in this Journal.  This last week saw the final Cleansing of the New Lands of Atys.  The Kitin who had built the Mounds in Verdant Forest were driven down and destroyed.(*)

Homins must have taken heart from the work that the valiant few did in Witherings for many of the same ones came back to Natae and worked together.  The Kitin forces were mighty, but at the end, while I was indeed bruised and tired, I was not dispirited, but rather elated at the sight of so many homins working together for a common cause.

I have been working my usual work these last few days.  I have been digging, exploring, crafting for those who need it.  I have a feeling that finally, almost two cycles after coming back to my home, our Exile is over.

I know that the Kitin will never cease to push against hominity, but I have at last some hope that hominity will now push back more fervently than ever.  For now, I will resume my life as it used to be.

No, that is not right.  It will never be "as it used to be".  The lessons of the Second Swarming must not be allowed to be forgotten.

Tomorrow, or perhaps the next day, I will go to the market in Fairhaven and buy another journal, and therein I will scribe not the thoughts of our Exile, but thoughts of the Rebuilding of the New Lands.
