Taking into account the recent events, i think this is the time to start this discussion. Would you pay higher subscription fee for Ryzom? If yes, how much would you willing to pay?

I'd be willing to pay more, 15 or maybe 20 dollars per month (assuming 3, 6 and 12 months subscriptions would be increased accordingly).

I'd accept a 50% increase. More than that, and I'd have to consider if it fits into my current budget.

I voted no since i already pay more then 1 sub....

Lots of us already pay more then 1 sub

(and what's up with all these polls today?)

I think raising the subscription fee would probably cripple new subscriptions. I love this game but it is missing glaring elements that are present even in older MMOs. Pets, multiple mount types, jumping, swimming, flying etc etc.

People who have had time to discover the game properly may be willing to pay a higher subscription but the newer players already have a steep learning curve to overcome. I feel it would make the wall to high for them to climb.

Raising subs is probably something for the future. For any players with more than one account any increase would hurt more. I don't think many players would swallow this right now - there's not a lot of love around for the publishers at the moment and an increase in subs would just make things worse.

I've seen this happen elsewhere and the deal often is this: "there's an increase in subs coming so sub for a year at the current rates and beat the increase."

It's bad luck to be superstitious . . .

How many subcribed accounts do you have? Two? Three? Four? If the monthly fee would go say from 11 dollars to 15, paying extra 8-16 bucks a month hardly makes a difference.

I'm not claiming this is mandatory change. But, if the server merge won't help WG to maintain finacial balance, they'd have to make some unpopular decisions. And rising subscription fees isn't even the worst one of them. Think of a cash shop.

Sorry, Tumbleweed - I didn't mean to sound so negative. It's a good idea and it will come sooner or later (I don't know when the last increase in subs was but it must be about due). Just not right now. In answer to your question I have just the one paid account. And in answer to your original question, yes I would be happy to pay a little more.

My comment about 'sub now and beat the increase' meant to show that this would I think be a good way for WG to encourage more subs.

There has never been one - actually there was only a decrease (in the start it cost the same as WoW which came out only four months later...

I'd take the increase fooooor... 4 packers instead of 3 and at least 25% more house capacity, not to torture the devs much. Oh and 5 second reduction on common teleports (just to make it juicy).

My question was rather aimed at the audience in general, but nevermind ))

Tiered actually sounds like a pretty good idea when we're talking convenience stuff like this. Possibly some kind of FP allotment as well. I really like the thought...assuming we don't drift into P2W territory.

I do believe that increasing the base subscription price will damage the game more than help...both in new subscribers and financially. Yeah we have plenty of people willing to pay a little more but we also have plenty of people that would probably find something else for $60 one time payment instead of paying $180/yr or whatever for a single Ryzom account.

Also need to take into account the many veteran players with subbed alts. If you raise the base subscription cost many of those alts may go inactive.

If they increase fees they need to increase storage, i.e. buy more apartments, buy more packer space or extend guild hall iventory space. Or a mix of all.

I am assuming this is a faily easy thing to add...

we need to know that an increase in fees, also means an increase in resource for the development of the game.
