I have to say I was rather surprised (and somewhat frustrated) how many people didn't seem to have a real social life involving family and/or friends and celebrate the New Year's Eve on Atys instead (not counting that we have so many different timezones - the Brits celebrating an hour later than the French and Germans, while other countries celebrated already hours earlier or still had to wait another few hours probably). Even I, who rather seldom leaves the flat, would have been away if not illness had kept me at home.

New Years Eve is when the amateurs party, us real drunks celebrate the rest of the year.

Here is following from Anchor Steam's Website.

Anchor Steam® Beer derives its unusual name from the 19th century when “steam” was a nickname for beer brewed on the West Coast of America under primitive conditions and without ice. While the origin of the name remains shrouded in mystery, it likely relates to the original practice of fermenting the beer on San Francisco’s rooftops in a cool climate. In lieu of ice, the foggy night air naturally cooled the fermenting beer, creating steam off the warm open pans. Once a nickname for any West Coast beer brewed under these conditions, today the name “steam” is a trademark of Anchor Brewing and applies only to the singular process and taste of our flagship brand - San Francisco’s original Anchor Steam® Beer.

Lol, I have read this before and am a fan of their beer! But didn't want to hijack the thread. I meant what is 'steam' in relation to MMORP games, and what does it do? What are the benefits? *from 'clueless in L.A.* XD
(And please don't tell me to google it, my computer is broke ATM, & I'm using my IPhone to post! Arduous!

It's a distribution platform for all sorts of games (Counter Strike is a notable example amongst others). So having Ryzom listed somewhere on Steam would help in the same way having it listed in the Ubuntu software center helped: more people see the game and potentially come to check it out.

Ontopic: Agreed, some work needs to be done, and the game needs to be exposed. Then again, the current owners seem to focus on keeping the game alive as a priority, with no risks taken.

Hello, I'm a new player. (For those interested, I found the game through Ubuntu Software Center.) Has Ryzom been submitted to Steam for consideration? Can I use my steam account to add my vote?

Sorry if there is a more recent post about this topic. Thank you to any who redirect me if there is.
