IDEAS FOR RYZOM

#1 [en]

I just ran into an aread littered with corpses of kipees. It was actually a rather cool thing to see and gave me this idea for some changes to dead critters:

1. If not looted, corpses vanish after a short time. Extend that time to 15 or 20 minutes.
2. After a short delay (1 or 2 minutes) allow ANYONE to loot the corpse instead of only the team that killed it.

#1 would add some further atmosphere to the environment. #2 would prevent players killing off a spawn and then leaving just to annoy those who might be grinding the area.

While #1 does sound interesting, I am sure it would quickly lead to very poor graphics performance as the body count goes up.

It could never be more than the number of bodies when the critters are alive in the first place.

Fair enough, I forgot that they'll not respawn :)

Surely this means that a low lvl person can run through quartering all the kills that give high lvl mats. E.g. Trekking, would make tag alongside easy.

I've never timed how long it takes for a non quartered mob to dissapear but don't think that's 2min (for tibes/bandits I think it's well over 2min)

I already trek with a strict no quartering rule. It would enhance the realism as well, my brothers in law pick up road kill regularly to mount and sell. They didn't kill it but they can pick it up (much to their wive's dismay :D ).
