IDEAS FOR RYZOM

I want to propose improvement of guild system.
I think guild system is only thing in game that is really limiting. I want to create guild where can be anyone without any limitation.

I want guild where can be citizens of any civilisation, where can be ppl with any religion. Why i want this? Because Guild can be (for example) group of crafters, harvesters, etc and in this case race aligment, religion etc doesn't matter. This guild can be really neutral. Guild should be group of people with the same target and sometimes really religion and nationality doesn't matter.

PS: Sorry for my bad english.

Hmmm... I was under the impression that this was already the case, i.e. that if the guild was neutral that it could accept delared Kami or Karavan. It is certainly possible for a guild to be neutral wrt to Faction and civilization.

I've never been in this situation as I am a devout Karavan Tryker in a Karavan Tryker guild and I don't have any alts. :)

No, that's not possible.

If the guild is neutral only neutral people are able to join
If it's Karavan only Neutral and Karavan can join
If the guild is Tryker only Tryker and Neutral can join
If the guild is Kami- Zorai the following combinations are able to join: Kami-Zorai, Kami-Neutral, Neutral-Zorai, Neutral-Neutral
....

I think the explanation for this is that it could lead to problems in case of a conflict between eg. Kami and Karavan (Guild members can heal each other but Kami and Karavan are enemies to each other)

So maybe add in addition to the Neutral guild one that is Multicultural (or something like that) where the leader would have to do the rites for multiple countries to get this status. (even though I myself wouldn't need it) but if it's possible there should be some kind of drawback for the guild in general as well
I wouldn't allow multi-religious guilds though as there would be problems with the teleporters as well. (it would prevent a lot of guild-activities since the porters are not always too close to each other)

Unaligned homins can join any guild (even if they are marauders they can still join any guild, which makes sense—spies among us :D ). Aligned homins can only join guilds which match their alignment. Cult aligned have to join same cult aligned guilds. Civ aligned the same.

I thought about my idea bit more, bit deeper.

What about possibility to mark guild as "free" or so, which means that alligned members lose some conflicting functions (During membership in that guild). For example. There can be problem during wars when guild can spy both sides of conflict, because their memeres are from both sides. So this free flag will disable chat for both factions.. ..just tax for being free guild.

The same can be for Higher powers.. Guild can be flagged as "Atheistic" and result will be very simmilar, it will disable gaining pvp/kami/kara points and also disables chat in battles.

I think it is acceptable solution and it don't violates RP or any game mechanics.

wouldn't every guild change to that method then?
why would somebody make an aligned guild when he can make a neutral one that can have more ppl in it, and resulting from that a 'free' guild would be able to pick up every refugee coming to mainland.

about marauders that can join every guild, I don't like it either. There where some marauders in GoJ but all of them now joined MnM except some that just grinded their kara fame again. I see 2 problems with this first is guild fame when marauders kill city guards or ungrind fame then the guild looses fame aswell, seccond is the same like said before what happens pvp conflicts with marauder in a kara guild?

As I said before.. Free guild will be limited in PvP, just because of conflicts.. Aligned ppl in free guild will be Citizens (can gain double FP for FP run for his faction) but conflicting parts of citizenship will be disabled until this char leave "free" guild.

Become member of free guild will bring some advantages, but also brings some disadvantages.. And it will be on everyones decision if he wants full advantage of citizenship or if he wants reduce some advantages and get another for it.

Maybe this guild shouldn't be "free" but "non politics" (in case kara vs kami "atheistic")... ..true neutral... I can accept idea of forced neutral state in PvP battles. (Except defending own OP or simmilar situation)

sounds strange 'no pvp' but a free guild would be able to own an op???

If this idea ever would come into existance then I would just find it normal a 'free' guild wouldn't be able to own an op, even more why would ppl in a free guild have the knowledge how to use cats? Maybe ppl in such a guild wouldn't be able to use cats that would lvl out the recruitment difference they got over traditional guilds.

I think he meant no PvP flag PvP (the one you have to activate via the symbol in the health window)

And with that restriction OP PvP would be possible (even attacks on other people's OPs) as OPs were always meant as Guild vs Guild and not Civilisation vs Civilisation or Faction vs Faction.

And with the "free" option it would be possible to create free-kara or fyros-free or all the other combinations that are possible with neutral right now. So a free-kami guild would still be able to do FvF and and tryker-free guild able to do CvC.

And I wouldn't implement the chat restriction only during the battles but in general though I think a marker on the name (marking that person as a possible spy) would suffice (only in the faction/civilisation chats where the guild is "free"!!).
And the noPvP of the respective type would prevent any problems in regards of attacking other people during fights

So if a free guild could own op's and ppl that can be factioned with who they like (great for digging and boss hunting having if half guild is kami and other half kara) then i don't see a reason why not every guild would go 'free', it's not like tagged pvp is a big thing only a handfull of ppl on aristople do it once in a while. The influx of ppl joining those so called 'free' guilds would still trump the really small bad side effects.

You could have mentioned the teleporters sooner... (never thought about that as I'm neutral and don't have those in the higher regions and roots)

You could either reduce the max possible fame for people in such guilds to what was it? 60 for pacts in lvl250 areas? So that those would be just out of reach.
Or disallow buying of pacts in > 200 areas.
It should be somewhat alligned with the teleporters for neutrals just with a small advantage of being able to use some which neutrals don't have access to.

Sample for desert:
(M = Maduk -> Kami tele, J = Jena -> Kara tele)
City: Kami / Kara / Neutral / FreeKami / FreeKara
Pyr: M / J / MJ / M / J
Dyron: M / J / MJ / M / J
Thesos: M / J / MJ / M / J
Oflovaks Oasis: M / J / M / M / J
Frahar Towers: M / J / M / M / J
Sawdust Mines: M / J / J / M / J
Outlaw Canyon: M / J / - / M / J
Scorched Corridor: M / J / - / - / -

This would of course allow additional direct access to the lands of Umbra but still make access to the Wastelands just as hard as for Neutrals. Actually the access to Underspring would become harder for Kara aligned free (compared to both real Kami/Kara and Neutral)
