As stated in the Patch notes for 1.12,

Decreased Outpost production

An adjustment was necessary to the outpost production rates. Experience Catalyzer production is reduced by 90% and flower production will be reduced by 75%. The production of other materials will remain unchanged. This adjustment was necessary to cull the excessive quantities currently available across all shards.

It has become obvious that Catalyzer's are in short supply with guilds not even being able to provide for themselves let alone share with others. Its time to turn this back up.

This was done about 1 year ago. I also agree this is over due. The community that agrees with this statement should reply to the post to get the Devs attention.

Cat production is super low bring it up yo! so many new people are coming to the game and they dont even know what cats are b/c they are so under used. let alone flowers. alot of complaining of "i wish i had cats" "man this would be so much better if i had some cats" etc. please increase the production of cats guys and make life better for us on atys :)

I agree with Jayce. Cats is privilege, you have to earn it.

I've got to agree with Jayce, cats being rare make them more valuable and more of a reason to fight over the outposts.
If the devs do decide on increasing the cat production I suggest opening up more outposts. It'd hopefully start up some new fighting over the resources and could also give the new marauder guilds a chance to get their hands on some OPs without starting an all out war against both the factions.

The current OP distribution seem a bit too fixed imo.

There was a twofold reason for the reduction, which, to the best of my knowledge, amounted by 65%, not 90%, after initial protests of the community. Reason was, first, that crystal production was originally designed for a much bigger community resulting in abundance of cats. Reason was, second, that extended professions opened up a path for non outpost holding guilds and individual nonaligned players to cover their own crystal demand as an experienced crystal artificer.

Producing crystals of one class (ideally 250) takes, for a fully trained occupation user, about 1hr per day for a production of around 1500 crystals, with a maximum of about 3.700 crystals per day possible once one takes kitin lair occupations only.

A single player may thus produce as much crystals as 1/4 to 1/2 an outpost producing half mats half cats. Granted this requires much effort and careful planning.

So dont't be so lazy.

So yes I agree that the cat production should be increased again, but not back to what it use to be. The reduction was definetely too drastic in the first place.

I was around during the time when there were not even any cats. Even now I only use cats for crafting because I fear leveling and mastering too fast.

But since cats are introduced and here they should be more accesible to the players. I've noticed players joining guilds just because they have an OP and cats. This isn't right it should be because they enjoy the guild and its members. This makes it really difficult for new guilds to get up and running.

A slight increase should be easy enough and not anger people.

Personally, I despise most of the occupations and only dable in the scrolmaker for my crafting. I don't want to go mastering all the occupations to make cats and I'm not a big fan of pvp anymore so i don't want to go farm pvp points to buy cats from the faction/civ guys. I'm sure others are in the same boat.

Ran out of space... :/

Never argue with an idiot, they will just drag you down to their level, and beat you with experience.

What's the point of spending 1hr to make enough cats to save you one hour of grinding?

The point simply is that you are motivated to do other things such as swimming in Loria, running and digging in the Kitin Lair, touring the Watchers' camps or other actiivties getting you some cats. I often found bosses or made interesting observations during such activities, and started to like them.

Btw., the calculus is flawed anymay. Digging half a level in the range above 200, much more close to 250, takes ways more than one hour, similarly obtaining half of 150,000 to 186,000 xp by slaying plants, jugulas, cuttlers, najabs, or hornchers (not to mention plodis). Crafting a level takes less time, granted, once you have the mats. That's why I never use cats when seriously overcrafting.

Definitely needs to be turned up. It's pretty sad that you get more cats from farming Pei a couple times than an OP can produce in an entire day.

You ought to mark the sarcasm. Pei-Ruz is a team challenge for a full team, spawning every 4 days and dropping some 6 stacks of q200 cats. Similar for Pei, Aen, Sirgio, and Lixie, where up to four teams are a good choice. Great loot.

I have heard people wanting cats more lately than half a year ago when I started. I have enough cats for my crafting habits. I haven't used them for anything else for a while. If cat production is raised, I don't think it needs to be raised much.

I voted "other", and here's why. I think that the OP drills need more flexibility. Right now we get a choice of mats and flowers or mats cats and flowers (at a couple of speeds). I would like to see the drills able to be selected for any combination of mats cats and flowers with the OVERALL rate of production being the same.

i.e. if you want more cats/day you have to sacrifice production of OP mats or flowers. If you produce all three, then you get lower rates of all of them (as at present).
