I will admit that I do not travel to the desert all that often, but I have harvested in the Flaming Forest before now, and often enough at that.

Therefore, imagine my surprise when, while extracting Choice Dung Resin from the refreshed fields in western Flaming Forest, tinged green with the winter season, I caught a movement out of the corner of my eye that was not a Zerx fighting with a Fierce Yelk.

It was a flower, emitting glowing balls of dust. It came from a single stem issuing from the Bark, spreading to a width of twice the span of my hands, and with a calyx in the center. It bloomed for but a short while, then drooped and collapsed back to the Bark, only to raise itself again in a short time. Looking around, I saw several more.

Has any other homin seen these, or is it a newcomer?

I was able to capture an image of this flower.

I suspect it is a rare, but not new plant. Since the vegetation in the Flaming Forest changes with the "burn" cycle, it is likely that this plant is a rare bloomer that only appears occasionally. :)
