Hi,
I am running Ryzom on an Xubuntu GNU/Linux 11.10 (running GNOME3-shell) box with the following specs:
Pentium(R) Dual-Core CPU E5300 @ 2.60GHz × 2;
Intel® G33 x86/MMX/SSE2 graph chipset on a Zotac mobo
4GB RAM
32bit
Dell 24" monitor at 1920x1200
and I get rather annoying colored 'flashes' across the screen, in particular in cities and in particular when going from one ward to another.
These flashes are often combined with an old-fanshioned "windows" like icon with a computer drawn on it which says something like "please wait"
My connection is rather fast (32-35Mbps down/ 1.95Mbps down)
Any ideas as to how I could fix that?
thanks!

Sounds like your having trouble loading the next area as you cross between invisible seperations that make up the city. Not sure of a solution on linux. Usually I'd say get see if there is a slowdown on the interweb or your isp.If that's ok then a better vid card or faster box. Try lowering your screen res and see if that helps.

yes, I suspect that my less than stellar graphics card might be to blame...

thanks!

yes, in most cases a gfx card from nvidia or ati is better suited for ryzom than one from intel even if the gfx card is from back in 2004 when the game was released first.
