Just wondering, how many kami missions do i need to complete before i get any fame with the Kamis. I have done 4 but have not got any fame. ( I am assuming that the kami will be very grateful to you means fame).

Was your fame very negative to start? Are you killing bandits? It's not a full point of fame for anything, it takes a bit for things to show up.

Like Byrana says, you do not get a fame point for every 'very grateful' mission you complete. I have tried to figure out what fraction of a point you get for each mission, but there seems to be no logic (anyone knows if there is please post).

Just keep plugging away and your fame points will come. You may do 3 or 4 missions without getting any, then get points from 3 missions in a row.

Message me and I will be happy to help you learn the ways of the Kami.

I have 100 Kami fame, may I offer some light on how I did this:
  • Visit all four capitals. I live in Zora; so, I always start in Zora.
  • Take all the red missions except Goo from the Zora Kami Welcomer. Do those missions. (Except make the delivery of Morsels.
  • When you go to kill the Birds of Omen, find the Icon Worshippers and take the red Kami missions (no delivery missions and don't deliver to Zora yet), do them and teleport to Pyr.
  • Take all the red missions except Goo and Kitten morsels from the Pyr Kami Welcomer. Go to the Leviers' camp and take the Kami missions there. Do the missions. Teleport to Yrkanis.
  • Take all the red missions except Goo and Kitten morsels from the Yrkanis Kami Welcomer. Do the missions. Teleport to Fairhaven.
  • Take all the red missions except Goo and Kitten morsels from the Fairhaven Kami Welcomer. Do the missions.
  • Return to Zora and deliver your morsels.

Once you are a Heavy Armshomin or Destroyer, then add the missions from the Maiden Grove and Oflovak's Oasis Kami welcomers.

Ok thanks gorran. . I am having one problem, I can't get to Yrkanis or Aedan because i get killed by, just about everything (LOL), probably due to the fact that my highest skill is 57. I spent yesterday working off dp. Could you help me get the tps first? I did get some fame from kamis yesterday in pyr.

Ballistic Mystix treks on Tuesdays starting about 7 pm US eastern time. We'd be happy to take you at that time. If that is a bad time Phaedras Tears runs a Satuday trek that may work better for you. Tyneetryk is GL of Phaedras tears. -Kilgoretrout,Guild Leader Ballistic Mystix

That would be because fame works like levels. Just like the higher level you become, the more XP you need for the next level, so the higher fame level you become, the more fame you need for the next fame point.

Except levels only go in one direction, up, and fame goes in both directions, positive and negative. So to go from 99 to 100 fame requires dozens times more fame than to go from 0 to 1 fame, and to go from -99 to -100 fame requires you to LOSE dozens time more fame than going from 0 to -1 fame. (So going from -100 up to -99 requires about as much fame as going from 99 to 100.)

Working your fame up from -100 to +100 will go very slow at first, fast in the middle, and then slow again near the end :)

are you sure about that negative fame marelli?

i've played around alot with fame i've been +100kara/kami/tryker/fyros and recntly i've been playing alot with negative fame (a bit bored with it at the moment waiting on marauder patch)

but last time when i was -50 zorai doing 1small kill low lvl bandit quest (only quest i could find was from a wandering npc around a zorai town somewhere) brought me from -50 to -48 by doing that one quest
and bringing my fyros and matis from -50 to where they are at now -41 & -37 did go quite quickly aswell

i've always tought going from negative to positive goes really fast so going from -100 to -99 should be really quick skipping some probably but i can be wrong with that i haven't gone past -50 or -51 since that's next to impossible (i guess doing loads of quests that give you small percentages negative fame could work but would take ages, and once you hit -50 in a town by doing the marauder/anti-theist 'exploit' you get killed on sight so can't go lower in towns that way

-50 is still comfortably in the "fast zone" around 0, at least for vets like us :P

I worked one tribe's fame up from -100 to -50, and in that run even the part from -80 to -60 feels like the fame points just speed past without effort after you've just been through that hugely slow part between -100 and -80

For me, everything between -65 and +65 is fast, -85 to -65 or +65 to +85 is slow, and only -100 to -85 or +85 to +100 is really painful.

If you compare "negative fame" as only the -50 to 0 region with your "positive fame" experiences close to +100, then yeah, negative fame is going to feel really fast in comparison.

But go kill a tribe until you're -100 with them and try to get that back up ;)

To the OP, I have led a lot of "fame runs" for guildies and found that it takes 4-5 missions from kami to get a point doing the Kami quests at Pyr, OO and Water Breakers. We would generally have all the peeps pursuing fame take the bottom 3 and 5th from bottom missions from these 3 locations and then each team member woul split off and do one mission. Doesn't matter who in the teams makes the kill (all these are kill missions) someone in team will get credit......when everyone gets cred, we move on.

As for negative fame, it's definitely not quick in the high end. When I played through the Betas, most of my friends from that period went kara for a change of pace when game went retail. Three of them came back a few months back and all 3 had negative kami fame but didn't wanna PvP and wanted to join Bunnies......after 3-4 weeks of constant effort, they got no more than from -100 ot -99 to -98 or -97.

Getting -100 fame needs a serious fix.
