I was taking screenshot of Ryzom about the animals in the game, and... I get killed many times because I took shoots too close of dangerours beasts.
Could be a good idea add an item called "camera", so, the ppl in Ryzom can take shots from greaters distances (because the camera have zoom xD) of the wonderful beasts (solo, in group or hunting other beasts) and the views (the landscape, idk how to express it in english :S). like in the National Geographic! :D.

people can watch the shots and be interest in join us in the game, how knows! :).

Cool, but, even you get some troubles getting a photo, I known that because in one of your commentary I read "sorry but I can't get another closer" or something like that.

So, what do you think, can we ask for a camera in Ryzom? :D

I suggest to create a ring scenario and just place the creatures you want to take pictures of. Set them not to attack players and you can get as close as you desire. Point of interest should also be the following parameters of the client.cfg: (enter any dimensions you want)

ScreenShotFullDetail = 1;
ScreenShotWidth = 1920;
ScreenShotHeight = 1080;

The UI is disabled for the time the screenshot is taken. I hope this is not "illegal", if so please edit.

There is a camera zoom cheat if you look around but note modifying files will prevent you getting csr support.

For the "National Geographic" type screenies a ring scenarion is OUT of question! The Fauna MUST be in their natural habitat and spawn location.

PS.: I did manage to work around the distance issue that i had when i took that screenie of Javkin.

agree!
it's better have an item to do that than do it in a "plastic" way.
of curse, its more quickly, but... anyway, I prefer take "natural" shoots.

And the trouble with zooming 200 meter to see a creature is the creature will still be rendered in far-away mode.

This would need an actual new feature where you can move where you're looking, some MMOs have skills or class abilities like that or items like binoculars.
