They tried to fix the election ? I thought the pillars burned less brightly last week. Even Tryker warriors have visited the 4 pillars of Truth, Honour, Discipline and Justice. Good words for all warriors to live by but even more important for those who seek to lead.

Dunno, since either I missed that meeting or was daydreaming through it, but it sounded like to me that they were trying to encourage participation for each candidate.

But, as the numbers show, the candidates didn't work for the position, unless representation is abysmally low now. Whether some arbitrary unwritten minimum number is acceptable or not, only four votes cast for three candidates is rather embarrassing.

At the conclusion of the next elections, it would be nice to see a list of each candidate and the number of votes he or she received, the total votes cast, the minimum number of votes required for eligibility, and the number of Fyros Patriots who logged on at least once during the election period. If representation truly is low, the algorithm may need adjusting, and these numbers would allow the playerbase to make such a case.

when i ran we all knew we needed ten votes i think i read it on the role playing forums but dont quote me on that my self and others when standing for election we did so because we wanted to. we went round with daggers in our bags asked patriots to vote for us and if we got elected it was because we worked at it. i dont want to offend any one but if we knew the rules then why did those standing this last time not know them ?

Unfortunately NOBODY is reading Fyros chat, since many of the Fyros Patriot are on various Vent Servers communicating via voice.

Also, since there was a member of TI running one automatically assumes that atleast 80% of TI's Patriots will vote for that candidate. It might not be that they will, but it is more than likely.

I just hope next time we won't be so preoccupied by preparing for OP battle and will be able to run a proper campaign.

PS.: Nobody was trying to "Fix" the election. Merely Encourage ppl to take part.

I for one am a bit embarrassed at how the election went. I think its safe to say that we all should have tried a little harder to give out daggers. I only hope we can have another election as soon as possible.

Aye, I agree, but after this i don't think the Event team will be happily putting their effort into it. Not for atleast 4-6 months i think.

All I can say is it would have been nice to know these numbers before hand.
Indeed. I don't think we can blame any candidates for not working harder to get votes when they had every reason to believe they didn't need those votes. I'm wouldn't go around bugging my friends to turn in daggers if it wasn't even needed.

I've always found the Akenak elections a bit overkill myself. A new Akenak is elected every 2 RL months... as someone who's been a Noble for over a year and closely watched the Taliari and Awakened, it is my experience that to get anything done on a player government often requires longer than that just planning it.

Taliari, Awakened, Nobles... once you're on it you pretty much stay on it unless you step out. If you want to stay on the Akenak, you've got to pass around daggers every two months, even if there's not even anyone else who wants your position? Seems a waste of time for both the Akenak and the Event Team honestly.

I personally don't mind the Call of the Dagger at all.. it makes us different from the other races and shows that the Fyros are very tradition oriented.

I tried to have it changed during my time as Akenak.  It was met with less than enthusiastic support from the events team.  I had the real impression that if I put the work into a proposal for changing it wouldn't be implemented anyway.  Any real change to the game will have to come from the devs or the events team.  They may call it a player government but the players have no real power.

Agree with Stitch.

i do agree with stitch i still have 3 pages of a priposal i worked on with liliang when we were both in office for an idea that the team seamed to like but it took so long and never happened ,this becomes disheartening when you have tried to get into the polatics of the game and join in and help with development.

I must say I am quite disappointed to see that... unfortunately, I was unable to attend this election. Last time, I not only campaigned but also put some voting daggers for sale on the market at 0% profit. Just to be able to reach some people that were online when I couldn't be. But even then, I couldn't even get to vote for anyone myself.

Maybe the voting offices should be open longer so the busy people like me can hand in their dagger, or just so that more people can vote period.

Maybe the voting process should be handled by a programmed NPC instead of a person of the animation team who can only be there for short periods at certain unknown times of the day. Not that they aren't doing everything they can already... but it would increase the possibility to vote and relieve them from the responsibility of logging in to just stand there and wait for people to bring in their daggers. Of course, NPCs can bug and crash with the server... but bad luck can happen either way.

That is an excellet idea! We alreadz have the NPC to sign up anyway, maybe with little adjustment it can accept the daggers too?
