Hi everyone,

I often read Ryzom's players complaining about the website: too old-fashioned, not enough updates on it, can easily turn down a potential new player, etc. And I agree woth most of them. But I also know that the dev team lacks the time and means (both human and money) do start a redesign of the website.
That's why I started with my modest capabilities to think and create a whole new design for it. This project is coming along quite nicely and the first results pleases me.
However, I know that I've reached some of my limits; especially in terms of design and graphism and I need external point of view feedbacks on the general aspect before going on.
So if you feel you have the talent to produce a nice background (I tried and failed on that), menu decorations, fancy icons or a beautiful footer please do and help-me produce the most beautiful and appealing Ryzom website.
If you're like me and cannot do those things, I would gladly appreciate your feedback whatever it is.

And now a first glimpse (clickable) :

Just by a first look, yes I think it looks great; the current design needs a long due revamp. However without any sort of testing or the such I cant really say much beyond that. I really hope your project gets some attention though. Best of luck!

I fully agree about the need for a redesign. The "glimpse" looks good so far, best of luck on the project!

The sketch looks different, but sadly it doesn't look any more modern than the current website. It still screams "Look, it's 2005 all over again!" Take no offense, please. *wink*
Enough with wood and creeping plants, already. I'd imagine something more "airy", with semi-transparencies, perhaps something that'd incorporate the current hand-drawn reticle style... something inspired by daVinci drawings, astrological charts and occult diagrams, stuff like this:

Think "A Canticle for Leibowitz," with Kitins instead of nuclear holocaust. Think Voynich manuscript, Atys-style.

Personally I like Zelirr's effort. Keeping plants in it seems a must to me.
