On a clean install in linux, it was endlessly stuck in waiting. I ran it again from the command line and it said the file ~/.local/share/Ryzom/ryzom_live/ryzom_client_patcher was missing.

The update was able to continue but there are four files missing and I cannot play now.

Have you downloaded a fresh Ryztart package from https://me.ryzom.com/?download=linux ?

Yes, I downloaded the latest installer. I just tried it again to double check.
