Hi there!

A long time ago I wrote a Linux generic installation guide. At this time, there was a rsync server available to fetch the official linux binaries. It seems like it's gone :

$ rsync -rtzv --progress --stats www.ryzom.com::ryzom "$HOME/ryzom/client"
rsync: failed to connect to www.ryzom.com (178.33.44.72): Connection refused (111)

Is it just down or permanently gone? If gone, is there anything to replace it please?

You can get new beta client and data from http://ryzom.kervala.net/clients/

Live client patching is still work in progress.

Well the beta clients should be made official somewhen in october, together with an installer that upgrades from any previous version of Ryzom, to make sure everybody uses the latest version.

Also the v3 client uses the original patch (not patchlet) again, so you should no more have to update data with a script.
