Actually just removing the "Change Character" button would solve the issue temporary.

a) Everyone who's new in this game, tries it and sees a bug.
b) Everyone who's ever tried that, just quits a client and relaunches.

Removing the button would solve the bad appearance for the new players at least.

You can change the character despite the White square no problem...
PS: Did anyone notice that the Kami next to Character images gets larger when Logging out to Select character than on Log in ?
