in terms of morality we can debate that all day but here's the thing... people can choose and you can also choose, not to go into pvp zones, without the expectation that perhaps some "less than honorable person" (in your personal opinion) WILL in fact kill you

now, there's also a roleplaying and a "game" way to deal with this
the "victim" can have a large group, a network of friends, people can choose to black-list people who dont live up to their moral standard

so lets say you have an op battle... well you can support, and not-support who you want. you can deal with the people aspect and rally support, or not. this is all within the roleplay and the game itself

luckily nothing terribly valuable is in pvp zones that a low level player needs to be there for, so if i go to those zones i go knowing im there for valuables, i gear up accordingly, have people, or, i sneak and take my chances and expect to dig with a bag of good loot

atys is a place where some people choose to kill where it is allowed, and its not real life. luckily there isnt a large segment of my town that chooses to kill where it is allowed. id have to move or remove the people. same with the game. you either have to move, or deal with the people.

At 1080p, max settings with 8x nvida aa, high quality in the control panel, and max ryzom settings i only get 100, and that is using 100 percent of my gpu, and around 15 percent of my 4.5 ghz 6700k.... if I am not using my shadow, and use the laptop I get around 20-25 fps at 1080 max settings 8x aa, high quality radeon settings.

Personally, I get the sort of framerates you get using a far lower percentage of my 1050Ti. But most of us either have 60hz monitors that make such high framerates irrelevant or are picky enough about gaming to already have nothing less than a GTX1070 in the first place and probably just traded twin-1080Tis-in-SLI for 2080Ti.

So In conclusion, I don't recommend buying any graphics card any more, if you have fast internet, because you can get a high end gaming computer for a low monthly fee, and they upgrade their systems.

The shadow cloud computer I use gets around 60-70 fps at max settings 8x aa, high quality at 4k resolution. Which in turn means I can get that on my laptop, making gaming computers useless.

Some of us have issues with cloud computing. Exactly what those issues are varies from person to person, but many of those issues revolve around a not-always-top-notch connection to a remote system that is not under your control. At best, it adds latency; not so much an issue for Ryzom as for other games, but I would rather not add 50-500ms latency to my single-player games. We won't even get into the privacy issues except to say that, justifiably or not, they are a concern for many.

Then there is the monthly fee aspect; Shadow is not a charity. At $35/month, it would take less than a year for a modest gaming PC to pay for itself with the savings. A mere 5 months would cost more than a 1050Ti.

Also, it's only available in certain areas. VERY few, in fact. Ironically, you'd think that Microsoft's hometown (Redmond, WA) would be one of the areas with access to that technology, but it's not available in the state.

In short, Shadow may be worthwhile to those in a limited geographical area who insist on paying a premium to play on laptops or Macs that are inherently weak for gaming due to their lack of GPUs and who lose more than $35 in their sofa every month, but not for those that have a desktop PC built within the last 5 years or who even notice household expenses in their personal finances.]]>

I am looking for at least 100 of each type of mat from Great Kirney (Q259 Fine Quality from Demon's Lap) which by my calculation would be at least 500 total mats for 10 Million Dappers and before anyone again calls me lazy, I am hunting daily for them just not as successful as I had hoped, which is why I am creating this post and asking for help. I am honestly not expecting anyone to take me up on this offer but I will never know if I do not try and if you are wondering why these mats, the obvious answer is for crafting purposes.

Instead of selecting the item I want to make (say a medium quality axe, and evolve what is needed to make the item, I would love to see the reverse.

Provide what I have (looted & harvested), and devolve it into what could be made with the items (2 medium quality axe, 1 basic quality dagger; or 3 basic quality axe, and left-overs).
The devolution can be made to be with similar target "Conditions" as the Evolver.]]>

Game Data - These are the base numbers to which craft formulae are applied as well as my understanding as to how or if they apply.

Durability - I have pondered what possible effect might have but as yet nothing comes to mind. I mean it's not as if the bullet or shell might "wear out" traveling up to 60 meters. All ammo has a base Durability of 100.

Lightness - 100% precraft gives you minimum weight so these are inversely proportional. Autolauncher has min of 4.8 and a max of 9.6 . Launcher is 10.0 & 20.0. There's also data for Harpoons and Grenades which we haven't seen .... yet :)

Sap Load - Again, like Durability, not sure how this could possibly have any real effect in game but range is 0 - 2,500 for all ammo.

Speed - The Damage per Minute formula is based upon the Damage of the Ammo x the Speed of the Weapon.

Damage - Base Damage numbers for each weapon which serve as the variable in the formulae are

Pistol / Bowpistol = 0.625 / 1.250
Rifle / Bowrifle = 0.833 / 1.667
Autolauncher = 2.000 / 4.000
Launcher = 3.000 6.000
Harpoon = 1.000 / 2.000
Grenade = 1.000 / 2.000]]>

For those that don't mind a bit of exploring and flagging, and who are not min/max crafters who will go to great lengths for small increases to the stats of their crafted items, BM is actually more confusing and cumbersome than useful or informative. The same goes for other sites of Ryzom-related reference material. At best, they cut down on duplication of effort, nothing more. There are no secrets there, only reference material.

And that assumes that you don't tap into the wonderful and knowledgable Atysian community. Unlike other games, the majority of people are quite happy to answer questions. The Ryzom Wiki and BM contain considerably less information than Uni, so don't be afraid of chat! Mini-masters can go just about anywhere a multi-master can go. Sure, some places are more dangerous for mini-masters than for multi-masters. But I've seen players as low as 100 successfully tanking Great Kinchers and Super-herbis; the mobs that many subbed players use to get their last few levels on. If a mini-master can take such an important role on a team in a 250-zone then, to my mind, they are not really all that limited. Even having to be part of a team to do certain things (like fight in a 250-zone) isn't really all that limiting in a game where some things (like fighting in a 250-zone without resting for a couple minutes between kills) require even subbed players to be part of a team.

Now, I will concede that Ryzom has a little bit more of a learning curve than many other games, and that does make those who are used to games with less depth feel a bit overwhelmed. But the only difference between the weapons an F2P player makes and the weapons a multi-master makes is the Damage stat; all the other stats are the same whether you make q10 or q250, so even a "trial" player can explore the intricacies of crafting jsut as deeply as a subbed player. Likewise, since diggers are generally not equipped for fighting anyways (most leave their HP gear and weapons in town when they dig), most high-level diggers dig in places that are safe even for lower-level characters. Sure, mini master diggers can't pop 10 spots and pull 50+ mats in a single prospection, but the basic principles and the best digging locations are the same. When if comes to fighting, the "sliding scale" XP system means that someone with Fight 100 soloing a lvl 120 mob gets the same XP as a lvl 220 character taking on a lvl 240 mob, and the XP cap means that that level 100 character would not get more XP for trying to solo anything too big for them to fight in the first place.

In short, even an F2P player can experience the same fighting, harvesting, and crafting things that a subbed player can, as well as explore the entire planet. Definitely enough to test the game... and then some.]]>

API/Bot features will mean that you can use any in/out-ofgame app within the server by just typing a quick </command <whatever>> <Bot answers: <This and that> ---

At the moment I only have an 8-player pokemon battle bot there (which I just HAD to setup immediately when browsing public bots, haha. havn't actually played with it with anyone yet though, bet it must be sort of fun though) ---- These are just some of the many features that the server will entail/feature.

There are also voice channels. "#mature-general" for those who prefer less "chatter" like in universe that I'd have to give people specific roles/permissions to access aswell (same with guild channels obviously). So no one can spy on other guilds (except me since I'm admin, LOL)

Discord is alot more efficient than forums and rocket.chat also.... Especially with above mentioned features I will be implementing ASAP.--- Please read all "pins" as soon as you find out how to find them/check info/announcements etc to see latest developments on the server or any other announcements.

Obviously NPC hunts, season changes and so on and so on will all be automatic aswell, when I'm done. For now I have manually announced season changes etc though. I am going to try and get some sleep (food first though!) But I hope as many as possible join in on the epicness! There is a webapp aswell as desktop version (+ for phones) so you can get pinged for announcements/npc hunts/OP battles or whatever you prefer/set up for your specific needs. This is all pretty easy and I will create tutorials for those who are not experienced whatsoever with IT-related stuff.

Discord is very "noob"-friendly anyhow. It's the new "MSN"/"Skype"/"Mumble"/"IRC&qu ot; etc etc all merged into one though, so to speak - so I really do recommend it. Also, the more people that join, the easier it gets for me to develop/further implement/adapt/edit/improve on the server features aswell as channel/bot/API/RSS features etc.

...or staff. Staff can have insane amount of charges for the echangement (I believe the most out of all types of weapons), cheaper to make, cheaper to get, "cheaper" to maintain.

The issue, well main one anyway ... twice the amount of crystals ... twice the amount of credits, twice the amount of damage taken if something catches up to you as it takes twice as long to kill due to lack of the amp's boost.

And yes, twice is rounded as I am assuming we talking 1.84 (84% amps) - 1.97 (97 % amps)

And I agree with Gidg ... recommend rifle as 1st Ranged Skill]]>

Simply put, the worlds in most games are more similar to our own world centuries ago than Atys is. Other game worlds have stone castles, steel blades, and other things that actually existed on Earth. Atysian blades are made of shell, and our rifle barrels and heavy armor are made of wood. Stone isn't a popular building material on Atys, nor are homins really into the whole large-scale excavation thing. Trykers will make piers, Fyros will work the sand to make some walls, Matis will hollow out trees, Zorai will do some thatching, but none of them are into masonry and we leave the tunneling to the Kitins.

Between the resources available on Atys and the architectural inclinations of the four races inhabiting the rootball, any sort of constructed area will require a bit of story-telling about how these constructed areas came to be, and how homins have not seen them even in history books for so many years. That right there might actually be the hardest part of the project.]]>

Tamarea is the representative of all the teams working on Ryzom (dev, animation...). So, by experience, I know that, unfortunately, often she's very very busy. Therefore, what I suggest you is to take contact with CSR. (Type "/who gm" in your chat window to known who is on line.) CSRs can help you to know more about how and who contacting people in the teams.

She is not asking about Ryzom Forge or Ryzom Team but about the owner of the game. RF & RT are mainly volunteers, they don't own the game.
The question is more like how to contact vl, and Tamarea is the best chance for it. I don't think any CSR has contact with people behind.

I remember the pain clicking endless dialogs when I was new. But there is not that many 'bubble' interactions later. In fact, it was pain to get familiar with (some) UI "look&feel". Some things became better during the time (due to work of developers).

Healer is awesome thing to have on any level and I agree on what you wrote.

After mastering hand to hand combat, I feel my weapon should do most of the damage this time. It just became obsession and using hundrets and again hundrets of sap crystals like they were the air I breath. Trying to avoid that feeling this time. Perhaps on next fight I will try to find a balance and follow your way again =).


Zendae:

The 233 slavenis feel a bit harder opponents than same level Ocyx since I can use attack after dodge to limit my stat usages and I do dodge many hits. Same doesnt seem to apply on the level 224 Prodegious versions, or perhaps the difference is again in my head. Perhaps it's just that plant killing is starting to be enough. Also getting to the highest level Slavenis is sometimes very hard and taking lots of time away of fighting itself! =)

What an coincidence, Slaveni buds are fire protection... ;). Will give Kipestas a try.

I have overlooked Torbaks, they might be the opponent I'm looking for! The sun, sand and blue lakes sounds very refreshing. Easier to go and fight for just a short while too. Sounds perfect!

What has changed, though, is that there are no more vulgar kipees on the beaches east of FH, only vigorous ones. Only in the cave with the well northwest of Karavan temple there are up to 4 vulgar kipees, as usual in company with 2 to 4 vigorous per each vulgar. One has to kill the whole spawn twice to get the reward (careful, depending on level and fighting strength one better pulls the kipees one by one using taunt, kipees are somewhat social).

After the last kill, the reward (some cats) is handed out immediately.]]>

That is pretty much correct.



The fifth bar is Kami Tolerance.
In all the time I've been playing (nearly 5 years) I've never seen that bar go below 1/2, and it's uncommon for it to even get below about 7/8. For that reason, I feel it safe to ignore.

The main two you care about are the third and (especially) fourth as those are the only two you can really do anything about. Those are the two bars affected by careplanning while the other three bars are beyond your control.
