1 Fishing Occupation

Depyraken: In those videos we can see how the fishing activity can be done: using craft of fishing rod making of bait and at the end fishing.
All of that work should help other activities ( even linked to it). I'm thinking about lumberjack.
In the previous video, I'm talking about problems that I saw and which need more work to be done.

A Depyraken: no the only primitive here is to give the fishing license.

Depyraken: I would like to come back to the fishing rod craft (or preparation of baits). This will give us more possibilities for others activity such as cooking, carpentry ... ( free your imagination... you can find others uses too)

2 others missions/jobs projects

Tamarea: The restructuration of the work between RT and RF, by the use of Ryzom Forge's Slack, will allow to finilise current project one by one. Currently, i'm working with PtitBill to know what needs to be done for each projects... like which tasks needs to be done by which group (RT side as well as RF).

1 Gameplay change to make impossible kings stealing

We are testing a system "locking" the king by the first team pulling him or his guard. The goal is to not allow king stealing anymore.

2 Font fix
Dev group fixed the font issue which was truncating the higher and lower part of the text... as an example '_'. There is more space now.

Many games as old as Ryzom understand that new players can leave by being discouraged about being unable to be relevent, useful, or competitive.

My experience as a new player has taught me that it is basically impossible to be these things, with the great number of multi masters who freely give and help everyone with everything all the time.

The idea is to allow lower level players to level (certain) skills faster to become more relevent, useful, and competitive.

Two clarifications:

1) low level players normally level faster at lower levels, yes, the experience curve is already exponential here like most MMORPGs, but the proposal is to make it even faster, for newer players

2) there are a few ways to do this, wurm has a system where if you are level X your "real" level is level Y (example, someone with level 20 on a curved server is as strong as someone at level 36) but I'm not saying to do this

The curve above is too powerful, it should be a bit less generous for Ryzom of course :)

I'm proposing something like a handicap, faster levels for lower players that tapers off, not really the numeric + effective level as wurm does it, just an exp booster (nothing drastic)

A Mathematical relation can be established that can be well thought out and tweaked, so as not to disadvantage veterans.

Yes, it's not all about levels but here's a particular example.

Consider, you need 40 points for every 5 hp boost. So If you want to make Q50 gear with 25hp, you need 40 x 5 = 200 points. This is 20 craft levels.

The amount of time it takes someone new to do this is counter productive, it's better to just take free stuff. Unfrotunately this is internally discouraging, and rest assured, I am not the only one who will feel this way.

New players coming in will want to feel like they can make an impact, so I hope my recommendation is taken to heart.

IF you want Ryzom to succeed, you need to consider alternative, creative ideas, and challenge the status-quo. We need it to be profitable, retain more players, get more subscriptions.

With these things in mind, I propose the above.


P.S. If you are able to dig into my idea and articulate it better, I will appreciate the help, it's not easy for me to explain

Example curves: (quickly made from using bunny tools and some example calculations, no deep thought yet, except to show that you can start with a big boost and lower it, and ignore the last 50 levels) (again just theoretical examples)

It would be useful to be able to see who owns a Mek, particularly when it's badly parked. It's already been pointed out how this could lead to problems (gassing the Mek of someone you have a beef with) though so I can also understand why there'd be reservations.

Toutefois Zhan n’était pas seule, le kami du temple ne l’avait pas quitté des yeux depuis un long moment.

You can get newer stable 'beta' clients from http://ryzom.kervala.net/clients/. Those have automatic patching and if you use static client, you should not require any extra packages than you already have.

Rien de bien méchant bien sûr, rien qui ne vaudrait une exécution ou ne pourrait déclencher une guerre entre leurs peuples, juste de quoi réveiller un peu leurs voisins matis ! Et il leur en faudrait du temps pour mener l’enquête et savoir d’où venait ce coup pendable !
Les questions affluaient dans la tête de Mermaidia mais elle était sereine et cela éveillait plus sa curiosité qu’autre chose : Qu’en feraient-ils ensuite ? Bien sûr qu’ils voudraient se venger mais quelle pourrait être leur riposte ? Auraient-ils autant d’humour que les fyros ?

Les habitants de Thesos foraient au Couloir ce soir, quelques tonneaux épars au milieu des sources avaient aidé à délier les langues et réveillé les esprits taquins des présents. Tous avaient acquiescé et ça ne serait plus qu’une question de temps pour régler les derniers détails. Le lieu et le but de la mission étaient déjà connus, Ingfarah se chargeait d’en savoir plus sur les jours de lessive royale et, ensuite, l’escarmouche pourrait avoir lieu ! La seule chose qu’elle craignait était les éventuels débordements des légionnaires.

Mermaidia sortit une carte par réflexe mais elle connaissait déjà le trajet par cœur : Thesos, Source Cachée puis de nouveau le Désert avec Pyr comme destination finale. Les habitants de la cité flamboyante aussi risquaient d’avoir une belle surprise ! Depuis quand les Bains n’avaient pas été lessivés ? Elle se remit à rire.]]>

Shocked into believing it was my turn to die, I shoved upward with all my strength shoving my 2h axe into a space that once held the kitin's head. The force of my blow pulled me to my feet and made me stagger forward. Whipping right, half crouched I saw Georgio's heal coming and started running. Blows hitting the back of the two of us as, we healed as fast as we could. We stepped through the portal.

I could hear our breathing. It was so still and quiet. I looked at the silent faces that looked at us. I slumped to the ground to gather my strength.

There was no going back. Not now.

Helena rose and started healing us. Then another and another... They just kept healing long after we no longer needed it. It was in this way that I knew the clan was with me.

I rose and returned heal for heal as well as I could to show we were all one.. Then turned and ran from the portal into a land that was unknown to me. Only tales from the Elders guided me now. My clan followed.]]>
