IDEAS FOR RYZOM

HighRez textures

Ryzom is great sandbox and just by adding high rez i guarante it that population would start growing.
And with what are you backing this guarantee? And where is your evidence?
"Start" growing? So you think it's not growing now? What about all the people doing the quests on Silan? I can't believe they're all alts, especially since there are a vast number of questions about the Silan quests, the answers to which are common knowledge. "Start" growing? What about the people who joined from Ryzom being put on the Apple Marketplace? (I don't recall the real name of this.) "Start" growing? I joined less than a year ago, got a friend to join less than a week ago, and told a number of avid MMORPG players about Ryzom. Isn't that growth? I guess you're discounting that (or haven't thought of it). If you want growth, are you telling people about Ryzom? Certainly you have more to say about the game than the graphics.

But they would finaly " lets say start from scratch " had option to fix all glitches and problems they made or left in current state.
Sure, starting over would get rid of most if not all of the current bugs. And take a very long time, in which other things couldn't be worked on, and introduce a whole host of new bugs.

Saying that introducing high rez textures would criple machines is wrong, if optimized corectly they can highly improve entire experience with game.
I don't believe anyone ever said higher res textures would "criple machines" (sic). You have to realize that many people don't have a good graphics cards or lots of RAM.
No matter how well hi-res textures are optimized, there is a minimum hardware requirement for any visual, audio quality upgrade. Hard drive space to store the textures, RAM to hold the textures while they're being used, GPU capacity to render them (or failing that, some of the CPU).
To head off a potential argument, the people who play Ryzom don't necessarily have (or would spend) the money to upgrade their machines to keep playing. A good number of the people I've talked to in Ryzom don't live in first world countries. I live in a first world country and use a seven year old desktop. I don't have the money to upgrade it, nor do I necessarily think I need to. It works well as is. Currently, Ryzom will run on a netbook with an Intel video card and 512MB of RAM. This is a good thing.

Im just saying that with new make over, good optimization ,good marketing, , well game would explode with new players.
Optimizing the game further, I have nothing against (if it indeed can be optimized enough to make the time doing so well spent). What do you have in mind for "good marketing"? As for a new make over, there's no point in changing the look if there's nothing else to draw people. If more content is added to draw people, why bother changing the whole look (which is no kindergarten drawings as it is)?

The time investment for just making the existing world "look spiffier" IMO doesn't weigh up against the benefits of drawing potential customers (those that are woo'd mostly by the graphics aren't I think going to stick around long term anyway).
I agree with this. I've played a number of MMOs with good graphics and little else. I stopped playing them.
