Journal of Lucence Freldo

Folially 19, 4th AC 2559

I suppose it is no great secret that Lady Jola often forages in the vicinity of the Sap Slaves tribe in Grove of Confusion. I have been there often myself to give her a hand with pick and trowel. So it came as a somewhat of a shock today to realize that she has a relative who lives nearby! She has never mentioned him before, but I watched her talking today to a handsome Journeyman... and it finally clicked! I suppose a smarter homin would have noticed at once - same fiery auburn mane, same prominent cheekbones. But I am not a brainy botanist, just a humble maid, so I hope you will forgive my slow uptake.

Jola is not one to dally when work is calling, so her conversation with the Journeyman was brief; we soon set out to gather two bags of Gulatch Oil for the guild hall. Between bags I casually inquired about her relationship with the handsome stranger. Her response was abrupt as if annoyed, but she did acknowledge him as her twin brother, Gichi. She also admitted to the family name Cino and that they both were originally members of the Sap Slaves tribe! Such tantalizing revelations, but she was clearly impatient to dig and not inclined to elaborate. I dared not press her for further details. However, I will return to the encampment later and see what I can learn from Gichi or other tribe members. More to come soon about my Lady Jola Cino and her secret family... I hope!
