Oh I 100% agree with you Marelli, and that was a big part of my point. Civs give armor because they are a group organized enough to develop their own patterns. Asking a bunch of anarchists for something that requires this organization is contradictory. Therefore, asking for patterns is equal to asking for what was fought against to begin with...technically this is what hominist guilds are, additional civs not supported by in-game political mechanics.
But, I was also just offering a solution that I thought fit the parameters best. A completely nonaligned civ.
