English

FR language

Neira -- While I agree with you that in this day and age English (or Chinese) is the _lingua franca_ of the international community, I don't see the use of FR (abbreviations FR, EN, DE, ES, RU, CZ -- much quicker to type than the full names) as being arrogant (most of the time).

I happen to know, for instance, that most of the active Tryker role-players are Francophones, as is the Event Team member who runs assemblies. As long as I have a [meetingen] channel to go to for a translation, I'll be happy. ((Blessed be the player translators, for they are godlike.))

Contrariwise, Ranger Assemblies are run in EN because Wuaoi (or the person who activates him) speaks EN. Krill translates to FR, and sometimes we even have a person translating to DE. I was really very pleased to hear that Wuaoi had pre-translated the long speech he made at the last meeting. That was very courteous of him.

I am a native EN speaker (though I'm picking up some bits of FR). When I am doing what I think is an important bit of role-play (e.g. scouting the KotD *mumble* years ago), I used Goo-trad and posted in multiple forums.

The important thing, I think, is to live and let live, adapt, and not get too upset if someone uses their own native language.
