Korrespondenz mit Marodeuren / Correspondence with marauders

Khalaoden sat at his desk, reading the latest answer from the marauder camp. He had a little trouble concentrating because of his neighbour who, from the sound of it, had a few visitors. It sounded like a little shindig they had up there. Focusing his thoughts back on the letter he began to write a response.
Lordoy,

I think it's natural for a guard commander to have different duties than the guards he commands. I believe even in a bar Jazzy won't forget his duties. I reckon him a man who is always on duty. But I believe we have reached an impasse on this subject. I accept that you feel disappointed by your government, I don't share your opinion, as should be clear, but I will try to keep an open mind. As you did in the past I only recently started to attend government meetings. I strongly hope they won't be fruitless endeavours, but time will tell.

There is another thing about marauders that eludes me. If I am informed correctly, the rite one has to undertake in order to join the marauders involves attacking city guards. It is my understanding that although the guards represent the government they are merely employed by it and thus belong to the people. The people you try to protect. So, why do you attack them? If it is only meant as a feat of strength, I am sure there are others, real enemies, to fight in order to prove oneself.

Khalaoden rolled up the parchment, tied it up with a cord and went to the izamcote to send it.
