there are medium helemts and full helmets historically speaking, i guess they were called half-helms or something im not a big war history buff :P
i suppose for light armor , games traditionally employ hoods for the mage class
they also don't have to provide dodge bonus if its that big a deal i suppose... but i love the hat pictures posted =)
