At the end of August 2013 or at the beginning of September 2013 we were told OOC by the event-team that the event has to be paused for "internal reasons". EDIT: it was August 9th, thanks to Limai who reminded me of this thread: http://app.ryzom.com/app_forum/index.php?page=topic/view/17770/1 We haven't heard anything about it ever since.
Still the rangers were allowed to continue doing their experiments - even in hidden source lately against the strong resistance of the chamber of nobles, represented by Filira Salazar Caradini who informed and warned Ranger Wilk Potskin about this matter shortly before the experiments started.
In my personal OOC-opinion this is a very sad development when player-governments are being ignored and made "useless" - just because of one insignificant termite-mound, instead of setting up some more of them in the Almati-woods if needed.
Also we Zorai-players feel bad now. The Zorai (and Matis) wanted to find an alternative botanical solution for the kitin-tunnels to be able to persuade the rangers to rather refrain from using termites as it seems dangerous to our characters. Persuading is plainly impossible though, since we have been made to wait with research for the botanical solution, but at the same time the rangers were allowed to continue and even expand their experimentation with termites.
We Zorai-players don't want to be treated like the Matis-nobles-players by the Ranger-Event-Team in the future too. But there is no guarantee that we won't be ignored as well and ranger-experiments with termites might possibly start to occur in the Witherings too after what has happened at hidden source...
All in all we have been waiting patiently since March 2013 (!) when my character Zhoi first suggested to ask the Gibads about their opinion and possible alternatives to the termite-solution. And now the event "Xyphacanthus : The Sword of The Botanist" has come to a halt without any word to us about this matter by the Event-Team for nearly two months :(
So my character has now begun to talk about this matter again during the Assemblies of the circles and the Rangers - simply because it seems unlogical to just let our characters "forget" about the botanical solution while we players are OOC politely waiting for the Event-Team to give us any feedback.
