Report on investigation into the Dark Mines

This is information of which I am aware either directly or by report, other homins please add information if you have it.

The Miner's Seal allows you to carefully climb the scree and enter.  There is what appears to be a Kami cemetary with one of the arched steles just off to the left which is unusual in and of itself, but probably not relevant to strange behavior in Kitins.  Moving further in there is a junction one side of which is blocked by impassable rockslides and the other is guarded by Kinrey.

There are also Kipee and Kiban wandering around in this area and throughout the mine.  I have heard no report of any Kitin types except the Kipee, Kiban and Kinrey.

The kitin seem to have little problem climing the rockslide and passing into and out of the passageway behind it.  I did observe, however, that there is one Kinrey who is non-aggressive, which is very unusual for a Kinrey.  The other Kinrey are quite aggressive and seem sometimes to sense our presence when we enter an area rather than simply come too close.

It was possible to use auras and speed to travel north along various corridors to sections of the mine that did not have many Kinrey. Far to the north there is a passage off to the west that is only partially blocked, and the non-aggressive Kinrey was observed to enter.  Following it, various parties have come upon a camp of Rangers who have been corrupted by the Goo and who reacted to our presence violently.  In the same area there was a strange Kitin nest enveloped in Goo fumes.  On attempting to investigate it researchers almost universally fell into a hole and through a tunnel that depostited them in the regions of Darkmoor in Aedan Aqueous.  During the passage through the tunnel traces of Goo Residue and Purified Goo residue found their way into our packs.

Exploration of other tunnels led to a few other Kitin tunnel entrances, but no other significant observations. (At least on my part.)

It would appear that the presence of the Kitin Nest and the Goo turned at least one Kinrey to non-aggressive behavior.  It is clear that the Rangers in that camp have been corrupted and need to be rescued and decontaminated (if possible). It is clear that at least some connections exist between the Kitin Lair and the surface of Atys.
