While I am sure that changing the anti-aliasing may have an effect on it, I have figured out what the base problem is. The game switched to a drop-shadow font, and in certain colors the drop shadow and the letter itself blur to heck and back. You can see this very clearly if you have a teammate (purple and really blurry) and then select her and maneuver her name until it's against the sky.
