Open letters of the Circles of Hoï-Cho to the Circles of Jen-Laï

Dear Initiate Laï-Poko,

thank you very much for your valued opinion!
I am grateful that you took the trouble to write a reply.

Yes, the Assembly of Jen-Lai is soon to be now, and I wish you all the best for it!

Well, the honored Awakened Fey-Lin Liang has noted in the open letters to Min-Cho that these means of communication via open letters are not appropriate in her opinion. Also her reactions to the mistakes I have made at the Assembly of Rangers led to my decision to refrain from speaking on behalf of Jen-Lai ever again. Unfortunately I can still not think of any better way to communicate with Jen-Lai if it is about urgent matters... Private password-protected notice boards might be even more troublesome to access. And personal Izams might be annoying for everyone because of my unability to write in the dialect of Jen-Lai.

The Awakened Fey-Lin Liang thought of addressing these issues at the Assembly of Jen-Lai; so at the moment my hopes can only rest on that.

1) Academy at Zora:

* the Kamis have honored our Nation with the important task to fight against the goo. Experimenations are of course strictly forbidden! This is also the reason why Hoi-Cho wished for a law against all kinds of careless handling with the goo, just to be sure that every stranger will be properly informed about our policies.

Still back in times when the goo had spread, Zorai-researchers had collected goo-samples to study them - very very carefully self-evidently - mostly optically I think. I imagine that they had tried to find out about what kind of goo it had been, if perhaps altered by homins, if the infection of animals had been caused by eating goo-infected ground-covering plants or by coming into contact through the skin/the feet of the animals; and so on. These are such cautious researches on goo that I was thinking about, following the will of the Kami

* there are many different kinds of ((NPC-))scholars amongst us Zorai; like linguists, historians, botanists, zoologists, geographers, prospectors and the like. And there are also scholars (mostly Sages) in the tribes of the Witherings and at befriended tribes all over Atys, who could gather at an Academy in Zora to combine and share their knowledge - if such an Academy will be established

* like the Academies in other countries it is highly possible that the Academy of Zora might not be accessible by everyone, but only by the scholars and their personal selected ((NPC-))students. The Dynastic Circle told us about secret entrances existing in the public hall of Zora leading to research-rooms and the library as well; exactly like it is with the entrances to our apartments and the guild-apartments. Still we would be informed of the names of some scholars and will such be able to ask for their opinion and knowledge if needed

2) burial rites

Thank you. Well, it seems that noone knows any details about our old customs for dealing with our deceased at the moment. At the last Assembly of Min-Cho the Awakened Fey-Lin Liang was so friendly to tell me a bit about the wonderful ceremony that Jen-Lai had held for the lives lost during the second Great Swarming. I wish I could have been present; it must have been very touching!

We also talked a bit about possible "burial"-customs for our kind; it seemed logical to us that at least the mask or maybe the whole body of a deceased homin - whose seed of life cannot be restored - would be given to the Kami, as digging in the bark and such damaging it to bury a body might not be the way of the Zorai. On the other hand might also be possible that the bodies could be used as substrate for plants or perhaps something special might be done with their sap...

Hopefully the officials of our Theocracy will be able to enlighten us about all the details of "burial" ceremonies of our people - or else maybe we representatives can work out appropriate means for our deceased in the future all together. I have asked the Sages via Izam about this, but as you all know it might take a longer while for them to draw up an answer...
